Well, I think I answered my own question. There is a technical page on redlines website and it looks like the additives are the same. So I don’t think the label made any difference.

I’m sure it’s the same then, it falls under the powersports category, just the 15w50 bottle says powersports under it and the 20w50 says motorcycle underneath it. This is on the redline website under the powersports section.
Same exact formula as all the others. Youll be good to go with the 20/50 for a Duc V4 , just give it a bit more time to warm up as its thicker oil on startup.

If you notice the 20/60 , 20/50 ,10/40 and 10/30 also says "motorcycle" as these are popular manufacture spec oils weights for many motorcycle engines.

Yup, appreciate the insight. I didn’t realize there was a “technical info” page on their website.

@NYCV4S Are you ever gonna test the Amsoil 15w50 one maybe soon?
I had been using Amsoil for my other bikes in the past and having those samples tested , the oil was along the lines of OEM stuff being a Group 3 , non ester based oil & It had under 1000 ppm ZDDP in it. Not a fan of Amsoil , Great marketers for making their oil well known however.

My next oils to be tested is the Maxima Extra 15/50 and the Redline Powersports 15/50

Most all oil companies have these technical and safety data , they wont all show additive package PPM though. Ether have to email a rep or have it tested yourself. Redline lays it all out for us to see , which i like.

Just an update for everyone following this thread, since @SirJAG had sampled the Redline 15/50 ( i believe he is continuing to sample it) , i will be running the Maxima Extra triple ester 15/50 to gather data on this oil as well. . Since the weather here in NYC is breaking into the 50s , I'm going to be dyno testing my bike with the remaining 300v in it. This oil has zero miles on it and was stored for winter.

This last 300v test will have roughly 100 miles on it and just sampling after the dyno test to see the health of the motor with roughly 2300 miles on it ( last time i tested i had no choice but to sample from the oil filter since i was rushing and forgot to sample from the drain plug after all was drained).

I will be running the Maxima extra for 2 rounds to make sure all 300v is out of the motor. I expect to have the first result by April / May and the 2nd result by June / July.

3 kids under 3 years of age , also 3 bikes to use & put miles on as well. My time is fully consumed , will do my best to favor time on the Duc and get results as fast as possible.

Will update when i have the data.

It is such a bummer that Redline and Maxima are out of reach for the EU. Redline is only avalaible through a reseller which sells a gal for 95 Euros which is absurd and Maxima same thing. I'm trying to avoid the Shell and Motul stuff and have been using Ravenol Motobike 15w50. Ravenol is known in the racing car community for their Group 4 and 5 oils. I thought let me give their oil a try and they did not dissappoint. Their oil is very thick tho and has the same color as 300V stuff. I only don't know if their racing oils break down also after 1000 mi or not. They say it is okay to use for daily rides

The maxima is pretty expensive at $90-USD per Gallon. I guess the import of them raises the prices $10 or so when conversion to the Euro. If you can get the Maxima or Redline, do it. $10 extra is worth it over the cost of a damaged engine. Not saying this Ravenol would do so , i just have no data on it. and you cant go by if a oil is thick or what someone just recommends. You need data on it. Both Virgin and used.

you know i deal with that here in the USA on contact lens....I would pay 400$ USD a year for them, +200$ USD for the doctor visit...and you have to renew the prescription every single year, and my vision hasn't changed in 8yrs....

Anyways...I just have a Canadian friend (forum member) buy them directly from UK, cost me $150UDS total for a years worth....and he just ships them to me when they arrive in Canada...

All that to say, just get someone over here to buy it for you and then you pay shipping across the pond...might come out cheaper even with shipping partner...

Hell, shoot me a PM with your address and i can tell you exactly what the shipping would be!

the weather was .... last weekend, so i am stuck at 389mi on my current fill...111miles more till 500 since the last sample... (this will be the 1000mi evaluation of Redline 15w-50, and all the miles are very hard as well...should be good data!)

I should get that in the next two weeks...although ill be in Dallas for most of march...could take me a while..

Take a look at Putoline motorcycle oils. Their “Off Road Ester Tech 4+” 10w/60 is a very good for street or track days. Their Race oil similar to the expensive Ducati oil is, “SPR+” 5W/50. It’s also expensive. These are available in Europe.
One other interesting thing I’ve found in dyno test by race teams. Normally low viscosity oil is used in serious racing, 0w/30. However, during the dyno runs there’s a tipping point where power drops as the oil temperature increases. When low viscosity oil gets hot enough it loses its ability to maintain a good seal between the piston rings and cylinder walls. At some point compression and the power output begins to drop off. The solution is simple, increase the oil viscosity. The graph on various dyno runs clearly shows the correlation between oil temperature, viscosity, and power output. There’s no question that lower viscosity oil increases power at cooler temperatures at the beginning of a race.
But as the race heats up…. you’re on lap 6 screaming down the Selby Straight at the Senior TT…. you’ve pulled alongside of Michael Dunlop…. you’re ringing the neck off of your Panigale SV4…. you’ve pulled the pin and that’s all there is. You and Dunlop side by side charging head long towards the Selby Bridge…. you’re thinking to yourself, “if only I had used the higher viscosity oil, I wouldn’t need to out brake this guy, or chicken out on global TV”. Higher oil viscosity could well be the difference between standing with the immortals, or walking with your head hung low…. no trophy girl, no champagne. Just a T-shirt like everybody else.

Sometimes I think some miss the fact that we pay far more for healthcare then the rest of the developed world for worse outcomes. People have been bringing drugs in from Canada for years (don't start). We, as US citizens pay for drug development for the whole world. If we had any leader with balls or the lack of being driven by greed the government could just go to big pharma and tell them that we will not allow any government agency to pay more for any drug than the average price of that drug by the G7 members. And all insurance companies will reimburse for any drug approved for use in the US regardless of where it was sourced. Or as I like to refer to it, grabbing big pharma by the cojones.
