Really? With the expense of living there, they have money left over?

They were not happy about it but gave me the discount in the form of credits and such.... Truth is, this bike is in high demand and people here have a lot of money.

Doubtful, it's really no different than a V4 base or V4S, and basically 50% of those have issues (if not 100% having certain issues).

They could be sitting and not being ridden as well, which is typical for most Ducati owners.

Wow I am sorry that you and motodoc have had issues but getting kind of tired of each of you calling people out or calling them liars/dishonest. Just because someone doesn't have the same view you have isn't a reason for that trash.

the bike is still in high demand?? I pushed away from the Speciale and opted to put the money on the V4R, but i see the Speciale going for 38k OTD with all the extras installed. It didnt take much haggling to get it to that price. And i do not see the bike in high demand since november when the R was release, they are easy enough to come by with a quick search. If they are not in your area (SF) for a good price, its always worth a road trip

I called ........ on someone who needed it done. I asked him if he had any recalls or TSBs done. He didn't respond.

Go over to the other forums dedicated to this bike and there's more than just me and him with issues. There's quite a few people who have had issues with this bike, in all trim levels.

Sorry for adding some honest opinions to a forum.

Well, since i was called a liar and my opinion is ........ i'll reply.

NO, I have not had to go in for any TSB's/recalls. I assume what needed to be done was done at my 500 mile service. I'll likely be in for my 7500 service soon and any leftovers will be done then. So, honestly, literally, zero problems with this bike. I also have a Multi, that bike has had a serious issue with the dash, but Ducati NA took care of it for me and reimbursed me for the extra mileage put on my V4 due to shop work on the Multi.

Shop for V4 in first year of ownership:
500 mile service
Tire change (just brought in the wheels, no bike)
Soon: 7500 service

Confirm with your dealer no TSBs and recalls are done -- I guarantee some were. If you also bought it in the 2nd half of the year, they would have done many of them before giving you the bike.

Hell, post your VIN and I'll check for you :p

It's not uncommon for a dealer not to tell you what was done. Hell, they bled the clutch on mine at 600 and again at 1300 miles when I had it in for another issue, but neglected to tell me they did it either time...so I didn't think I had a clutch issue until a little after 1500 miles.

Needless to say, if I had figured out sooner I had to bleed the clutch every 250 miles I would have been irate a lot sooner.

What the hell is a 500 mile service? Someone doesn't know what they are talking about anyway...or you don't even own one.

People post in forums when they have issues...shock horror. No one starts threads to tell us they had a good ride with no issues. Forums are a useless metric of reliability and QC. Non of us knows how each other ride or treat our machines.
