Not super likely to be able to find one later in the year. Allocation is already pretty tight and if you do find one it isn't likely to be within your market area.
When you are ready to look talk to your local dealer and see if they have or know of someone who has any left. If they don't message me and I will see what I can find for you.

I talked to my salesman today and of course his story has changed now. He’s not sure when the Speciale is going to get here.
Question for the dealers out there, if you take a deposit on a bike do you give the customer a receipt for the deposit specifying the agreed upon price and the motorcycle make and model, or do you just give them a generic receipt saying they put a deposit on a motorcycle?

Every dealer does it differently, and for us it depends if we're taking a deposit on a bike that is already incoming or if it's just a deposit on a "future" bike. If it's a future bike (meaning we don't have the VIN# of the actual bike being sold yet) then it's just a "reservation" deposit, and we have a simple one-page deposit form which specifies the deposit is refundable and not indicative of an actual sale, it's just an earnest deposit expressing interest in purchasing a bike, should it become available. If it's a deposit on an actual bike (VIN#) then we write it up as a full sale with all typical sales paperwork. For now, putting a deposit down on a V4 several months out it would just be a reservation deposit here. In our state (Nebraska) all deposits are refundable, so they're not a "deal" it's just an earnest deposit that may or may not result in an actual purchase when the bike becomes available. In other words it's not a "contract" yet. The only exception to this was the 1299SL which required an actual signed contract to purchase be signed and submitted to Ducati before they would allocate the bike.

Priced up a V4s to Speciale spec (excluding paint scheme) and it was very close to speciale price without the limited edition cache, so waiting now for my Speciale. If performance was the only criteria I'm sure there are plenty of other alternatives for the amount a speciale costs!
This is exactly the same reason I ordered the Speciale as well. I priced out everything I would put on the V4S, and it was so close in price! Now the waiting game..

Still waiting. I haven't heard anything yet. My NJ dealer told me May. I am no. 1 on the list.
From the video below, it looks like Speciale's are delivering in UK. The video shows this bike as #135. This would make me believe that US Speciale's are on the water or very soon to be.

Hello All,
Speaking of the Mag wheels, I am a bit confused. I thought these were an option that needed to be ordered with the Speciale, not as an accessory. My dealer is saying that the mags are a dealer installed accessory only and are ordered separately from the bike. Meaning that the Speciale would ship and arrive with the stock forged black rims. They say there is no option to order the Speciale in the Ducati system with the Mags.
Anyone have any different information?
