Hi, recently finished a trackday. Saw the tyre wear and couldn't make out as to what was the reason behind such wear. I tried looking for info on the internet and dave moss. Looks like liquid rubber rolls and the only thing I could make out from the info I read was maybe the shock is too hard or the pressure is too high. Was wondering if fellow track enthusiasts/technical experts could help me out here. Cheers !

looks good

if i can get two full track days, plus maybe 500mi on street i'm always happy! otherwise, lately pure street i'm toasted by 1500-1800mi....

the Corsa 2's i could get 2200, the newer corsa 4s are softer and ware more...dammit!

they didnt make a corsa three...

Rosso Coras 2's and 4s
Rosso 2s, 3s, and 4s.

the Corsa is the track/street tire
the non corsa are the street/mileage tire.
The super corsa is the TRACK approved DOT tire...super sticky!
Then you get into slicks

oh and the Corsa 2's were TRIPLE compound tire, thats why they lasted longer. the 4's went back to Double compound..so the center is a lot softer than what was on the corsa 2s...

What tyre and compound are you running and what hot pressures?

You may consider buying something harder to run on the street. I'm currently running the Dunlop Q5S as a front. Grippy, turns hard readily (pretty triangular), good on the brakes, dodgy in the rain. You should get at least 4K I think. I get mid 5's. Dual compound. The rear I can't comment on. I run really hard rears so I can get at least 5K to allow me to travel. Tires have doubled since the pandemic, right? As much as you ride, 4 or 5 sets a year? Ouch.

ya 4-5 sets a year...and the pricing hasn't quite gone up that much...i was paying 240s for a rear, that is now 280s-290s. Fronts increased slightly less...

I am considering a Rosso (non corsa) 4 for only street! Ill let ya know how that goes...i wanns stay with Pirelli...I like their tires and feedback...then again its all ive ever known....lol i am a creature of habit!

thanks for your input Bagger!

The main difference with the Pirelli's vs the Dunlop's typically is the Pirelli's are rounder so slower steering. Carcass behavior is about the same (unlike some Michelins). The tire they delivered with the V4SF, rosso corsa 2 I am not a fan of. When I finally changed to the Dunlop I realized that part of my struggle with getting the bike sorted was the tire. The Q5 versus that tire felt like I'd shortened the trail. Tipped in way easier. The pricing thing is interesting because the Dunlops were cheaper than that before the Pandemic, it seems but now they're the same price as Pirelli's.
