Hi guys

My clutch is slipping pretty bad on my V4R and want to to fit new friction plates. Does anyone have a workshop manual or instructions on how to?

big thanks in advance

Pretty straight forward, instructions came with the ducabike plates I got. You need an impact and the large socket to fit the retaining nut.

I’ve never bothered to torque a clutch, just hit it with an impact but not crazy hard. The plate swap on the dry clutch is super simple.

If you are going to burp anything you might wanna consider which direction the impact will be trying to turn the sprag for the stater

Some stuff you can loosen - some ya can tighten. (Without locking the motor and without beating up the sprag)

They only spin one direction : )

Gee me being silly but I guess you could just get a copy of the maintenance manual, read it (Don) and“BUY THE CORRECT TOOLS TO DO THE JOB” or lube up and head to Ducati Service.

Those are my cheerleaders

Like stink on ....

Not saying I’m “the ....” and that they stink or anything like that tho...

Stripping?

Whatever pays the bills man

*I actually do not enjoy strip clubs but strippers are people too : )

The V4S and R are different when it comes to clutch changes. It has its own set of tools that you need to get from STM or Ducati. I got mine from Jarel @ Ducati Omaha.

And we have a “right tool for the job” winner.
Wet clutch top, Dry clutch bottom (STM)

I sent this to you in a PM last week I think.
You need this tool

889450092 - CLUTCH HUB NUT TIGHTENING TOOL

Torque the nut to 190 NM

Ordered the tightening tool from Ducati and installed the new plates as illustrated,
the centre nut was a tough little bugger to undo! What I had to purchase though was a new clutch slave, as my son decided to pull in the clutch lever whilst the plates were out destroying the slave seal (pushed the seal beyond its travel and split it). Now replaced, all seems ok after a quick test ride
