I have a 2019 V4R.

Anyone know what the stock fork spring weight is?

Anyone know what tool is used to adjust the compression and rebound in the forks? Looks like a small hex but it doesn’t appear to be any mm size I have.

I purchased a Pitbull hybrid front stand with a front pin adapter. The whole contraption barely fits and the set up seems to put a lot of pressure on the front fairings when starting to push the lever down to pick the bike up. I’m afraid it’ll break something. Anyone have this set up?

Stock rate in the S is 1.0, at least it was on my bike. Stepping up to 1.05 made a world of difference, along with adding an additional shim to the valving.

I have the same stand, you have to have it set to the right height and more importantly you have to angle it in correctly to get it to not touch the fairings. Try to get the base as far back as you can before setting the pin in the stem. Once you do that it will lift without touching the fairings.

I think stock is .95 but could be wrong, I run the fkr now with 1.0 but will prob drop a 1.05 in one leg. The hex is a 3mm.
I run the Pitbull without issue although it just takes making sure you get the pin seated right.

Btw, you want to drop forks in order to move weight to a rear wheel. That's the common problem with V4 platform. Also, rear spring is too stiff, needs a softer one.

What’s the right height on the front stand? Funky pin also.

I weigh about 195 wo gear. The optimal spring weight for each of us is based on how heavy we all are. I’m not using nearly enough travel on the forks so I took a couple turns of preload out but I’m sure I’m not going fast enough either. But if someone’s gotten their forks done by suspension tuner around my weight, knowing what springs your running would be helpful. I’ve only been putting around on the street these days but would like to go back to the track (it’s been 10 years now). I used to be kind of fast but now I’m just a dad.

Mostly I just need to get the forks off and send them to CTR suspensions.

I’m 180 lbs without gear and and on top of my track suit I also have an airbag vest so our weight is close. 10.5nm springs are perfect for me and I’m in the middle area on preload so have some adjustment left.

With that said it’s setup right now for me coming down a stretch at 170 mph into the brake zone so depending on the track the settings would change.

The issue is how you are positioning it. Slide the base in first, then worry about the pin. Hard to explain but I went though this exact same thing.

For sure, I am 174# and went from a .95 to a .85 rear spring, much better.

This was helpful. The base needed to be closer to the radiator...then it’s not touching the fairings. Thank you for the tip!
