I like it... the rear, makes me remind of a Maserati.

Is this a concept designed by an independent designer?

The rear reminds me of a Maserati as well which reminded me of why I don't like Maserati's .

0-60 was 5.7s,
they could have put 2 engines, make it a V-4, or one engine at front and one at back :p

Absolutely the wrong engine to put in a Bike Engine'd Car.

It's too fragile. You want a small piston, low stress I4, not a huge piston, high performance engine pushed to the limits of metal technology. A car will put way more force stress on a bike engine, than a motorcycle ever did. The reason a BEC isn't a dog with such a small engine, is because unlike the bike, the car can put down 100% of the power to the ground immediately. That's hard on the engine, and especially the bike trans.

'Busa engines are stressed out pretty hard in Lotus 7 kit cars. But you get the engines from salvage bikes, so it's not a big deal to replace them every year. A full bodied car sounds like a nightmare.

Surprised that no one commented on the R8 resemblance from any front angle. While I understand wanting to promote their Ducati purchase, but why wouldn't VW put the existing (homologated and production-ready) 2.5L turbo motor from the TT RS in this?

Sure it weighs more than a 1199 motor but it's got TWICE the hp at 360. Even if it added 100 kg, 360 hp in a 1600 kg car would be awfully fun.

Put a billet V block in with 4 or 6 1199 heads on it. That would make more sense if they want to showcase Ducati engine tech.
