You can't compete with me guessing your about same size as Howard? Can you even lift a leg over a liter bike?

@HKMP7 Best feature I've found on this forum is the Ignore button. My Ignore list keeps getting longer. Nothing to learn from these trolls. You won't miss them. Keep doing you.

I'm impressed/jealous of @Frankones' build. Maybe Ducati Modified is the place to be with these yahoos running amok.
I would normally agree but this has been brewing from the first month I joined this forum. The toxic behavior from @Mick1976 is unacceptable and I wont tolerate it.
And yes @Frankones build is awesome I love the passion and effort for weight savings.

Did not mean to stir anything up. Just wanted to share the bike with you guys. The rear subframe was a huge pain for me to get done, and wanted to share the love. Motoholders said that the subframe would mount right up with tail light, and this definitely is not the case. You guys should know before you go down this path that will be a project in of itself, but definitely is nice to get rid of that steel! My last move would be the Ohlins fork and shock. Anyone know if there is any weight savings there? Thanks!

I think you've done the cheap part, many thousands later! From here on it's diminishing returns.
The Ohlins savings are probably zero but you have to get them, you will be blown away with the difference in performance. The carbon road is long dark and expensive but a tank, one piece subframe, perhaps carbon ceramic brake discs when you get a spare 10k ;)

Yeah like Paul says there won't be any savings within forks but performance stock S fork vs say a RT203 now you gain. Tons of other areas to shed weigh titanium rear axles, carbon bodywork, tank and most of all all the plastic is quite heavy. Ditch the stock fan setup thats 3 lbs right there install a carbon shroudless fan setup less junk to have melt and better cooling.

Who makes this part?

Thats correct racsak there is nothing for you to buy since you don't have a bike to put anything on so thats out.

A right ..... Mick allegedly makes carbon parts. Would never buy anything from him the way he abuses and bullies forum members as evidence of the future replies he will have towards this post.

My Thyssenkrupp wheel with Sicom rotors, rotor bolts, speed ring and tire weight within 120 grams of my just my Marchesini wheel and tire. More significant than replacing all the bolts on the bike with Ti.

Rear Ti axle, magnesium hub, Sicom rear rotor, P4-24 caliper, 520 setup is 40% of the weight of the stock components and it’s sprung/rotating weight as well. Lightweight subframe for sure.

These are the most significant changes you can make. Loosing significant weight (kg) is expensive especially when you start getting into exotic materials. The SL crank, rods, pistons, cylinders and ultralight flywheel are more than 50% less mass than a standard motor and except for the cylinders, that’s rotational mass which properly balanced gives you a pretty respectable increase in RPM. With enough money you can take 40-50lbs off a stock bike but that’s probably over 1k a pound to get rid of it.

All of that pales in the “bang for the buck”comparison to getting on a proper diet and in the gym. Nothing quite as goofy as seeing some lard ass (and I’m not talking a couple of lbs) but a true fat ass talking about the titanium fasteners he has. Those guys are everywhere. Take responsibility, get your personal house in order then start looking at lightweight parts. Everyone wins.

I’m 210 lbs and according to my last dunk in the tank I’m 8.8% fat which for me is fat. According to current guidelines, I’m an obese fat ass for my height (5’10”)so, I don’t have any place to go so lightweight parts it is. I’m never going to outrun Tony Elias on a stock bike.
