Quick question, would I yield better mpg when taking long trips on the Pani utilizing WET mode? Would it be so minor that I wouldn't really matter?

Thanks in advance!

Wet mode really isn't needed at all....even in the wet. And it's doubtful that it would increase MPG at all.

Riding at a steady speed on a long trip, it wouldn't. But constant rolling on the throttle will, it has less oomph at 120hp so it's going to use less gas then WOT in race mode.

Probably wouldn't make much difference as all it actually does is stop the throttle opening fully to limit the bhp, there are no actual different maps for each mode it's just how the throttle is programmed to act

But a softer throttle action would result in better mileage per tank.
I commute every day and I can say that "wet" mode combined with an easy throttle action can yield extra miles per tank.

Having said this, "wet" mode doesn't have to equate to pussy mode.
I find it handy to have presets for different riding / road conditions. ie. suspension rebound/comp, DTC, ABS, EBC and throttle.
Whether it's Wet, Sport or Race mode, they're nothing more than labels for how I like my bike to handle/respond.

I haven't got time to find it now but there was a thread on this. I ended up having to do a load of motorway last year when Brittany Ferries went on strike. General consensus was that wet mode gave an extra few miles range (about 8 I think). I hate using it, but if it's a long way to the next pump it will help.

to answer your question, i never thought about using wet mode, even if it dumbs down the power you can still be throttle happy and thats not going to work either. I'm doing another weekend ride and i have been paying attention on saving fuel rather than burning it. If you stay at steady speeds and shift with reason and keep revs around 5-6 you should be ok on fuel consumption, however if you get tired of that and want to TEAR IT up then that is great just bring 2 credit cards and atm card too, one for fuel the other for police when they chase you for excessive speeds!!

good luck

YES, you do get better fuel consumption in wet mode and can still have a fairly spirited ride in wet mode.

You can even "power" wheelie in wet mode ;-)...with the a lower TC setting. (don't forget to put it back to 8 for real wet riding tho)

Impressive !

Torque is the question. At 120hp top speed would be affected, in my opinion, but I wonder what the torque will be. BTW 41 MPG on wet mode, mixed riding! So it barely puts the Panigale in the economy range. While I love the talk about expected performance from this machine for all that we pay into it, to be realistic, I would hazard to say that the 1% or less on this forum who are track jockeys could probably take this machine at 120BHP and spank the other 99% riding on 195HP. On the street, the 120HP setting with full safety turned on is still more than enough to take on most everything out there, and in terms of safety, 120HP is already too much for most on this board. Not trying to offend, but it is what it is, IMO. I bought this baby to appreciate and ride so I enjoy all of it, from the talk of squeezing 5 more HP, to splitting hairs on which rearsets. Peace!
