What did you do to your V2 Panigale today?

I really like those Rizoma bar ends, to bad they won't work with the CRG Arrow mirrors. Are the pro grips any better at reducing vibrations ? My hand start to go numb after about 40 mins of riding.
I’ve tried several different grips including Pro Grips as well as using impact gloves. No matter what I’ve tried, my right hand still gets numb. Price of riding this beautiful red twin.

I read something a while back that significantly helped me with this - try bending your elbows a bit and using your thighs to squeeze the tank, as well as your core to hold yourself up. The less pressure on your hands the wrists, the better. I can literally ride for 5+ hours with short breaks here and there (fuel and water) with no prob.

Hope this helps = )

That’s exactly right. I’ve been doing that too when I can remember.

the only problem with squeezing the V2 with your legs is the burns you'll get from the heat... :)

my first annual service today after week shy of a year of ownership.

I opened Pandora's Box and got on the interstate for the first time this evening . no more of that or i will be buying tires every week.

the 'good' dealership is a few hours away so i got to see the ice snowflake light up on the dash this morning crossing the mountain over to Cherokee. (triggered at 41 or 42 degrees. the backside of the upper radiator is an excellent hand-warmer.)

A beautiful drive on blue ridge and 276. both fun roads. driving through Brevard/Travelers Rest/Greenville proper sucks.

they gave it a re-flash and a once over. they use motorad bmw oil which is a bit clackier but shifts better compared to the Motul I put in before winter 'storage'. I tipped the tech and picked up extra filters, crush washers and o-rings. ran the same and started the same. passes everybody just the same.

I sat on all the other Ducatis and confirmed that the V2 is the self-justified proper choice for my usage. definitely a tidier look vs the others.

About 360 miles today. Such a great machine.

That’s a lot of miles in a day! I take it that you went to Touring Sport in Greenville.

I hit 110 to 215 up to the BRP today. Great weather. 62 miles.

I‘ll hit the parkway again tomorrow for sure!

Yes, Touring Sport. The tech even cleaned his fingerprints off the plastics.

cool, clear and smells like Canda. Best burn it up before the tourist get here. I had a few over the line today.

How is 215 around Lake Logan? 209 from 40 to hot springs isn't bad but it has gravel on the inside rights.

It takes me a tank to get to brevard. Grassy Creek near little Switzerland might be the next closest fuel past biltmore.

Lake Logan is fine. Did Hot Springs last weekend and there’s gravel in the tight turns. It was not as fun.

I had a cager and a Harley over the line today. And a fat groundhog (whistle pig) ran out in front of me two days ago on the parkway. Grabbed a hand-full of brake and it ended happily for both of us.

More adventures tomorrow!

Today I got some grade 23 space ship bolts to bolt my cases together with

Turns out the oem bolts are very weak : )

to bend like that without breaking, it must be an 8.8 or lower.

my helmet dropped off the seat yesterday looking for a solid chunk in the gravel for the kickstand. bought it in '08 and its never touched the ground so a sad day.

probably will stick with the quantum II as i like the fit. the shoei buckets, though lighter, didn't have the aria comfort.

Oh bummer. But look at the bright side... decade plus of setting it on the seat no scratches. I could not do that without it falling 30 days in a row no way no how

Took mine to a trackday this past Friday. Was my 1st time with the bike on a very familiar to me track (I've been attending TD's at new to me tracks) and right out of the gate I was running same lap times that I used to run with my old HYM EVO SP and 848 that I ran 10 years ago. By the end of the day I was a full 3 seconds faster at what felt like a medium pace. To top it all off this was in the rain (well light drizzle) so my times would only be better in the dry. All I have to say is thank goodness for all the electronic do-dads, I'm sure it saved my throttle happy wrist more than once.

Good job! Makes me wonder about the V4R running moto gp times. It was drizzlin there too ha. You guys that haul ... when it’s wet are nutz. Electronics or not

Tonight I started on my side stand. It’s one of a few things that caught my eye the first time I looked the bike over at my buddy’s house. Wasn’t even mine then but I didn’t like the way the parts did not match up well. Up or down. Just a start , it will be lighter when finished

Finally got the correct ring nut socket so I could get the crank outta the doner motor. The cam chain sprocket is keyed but must be a pretty good interference fit on that left side. Had to get sprocket over 300° F before it would budge with 2 ladies feet

Also made a crude tool to assist in the removal of the lower fork legs:

Suspension guy wanted to bill 2 hrs for removal. Smoked. Prolly spent 20 mins making tool and 60 seconds heating and removing em : )

If anyone wants to take theirs apart for whatever reason (dlc/anodizing etc) come n grab it

This is some truly entertaining ..... I am fast becoming a fan of this build because well let’s face it, you ain’t gonna find this anywhere else. Can’t wait for the next installment

Yeah its been 7 months now and all Don has shown us all is a bunch of broken damaged parts and tools from a junkyard. I can't wait till the next installment too.

Kidding aside, I hope you do not plan on running that cam chain gear after removing it that way. There is a correct tool that pulls the gear from its base to avoid deflection stress. You could have done it a little more justice using a three finger but even that isn’t correct.

If the sprocket mags ok it’s fine. 300° ain’t nothin and once it popped loose it slid right off. Nothing wrong with anal (ask Beller) but what you are claiming makes you sound paranoid

Wait til you see what I do to the forks parts. You are gonna balk. Hard...
