What did you do to your V2 Panigale today?

Is there any downside to running the fan beginning at a lower temperature?

imho, 200F would be less taxing on the electrical components/system.

it is a good day if i can make it to the other side of town without the fan coming on. it only takes one slow ....., and it seems, the idiots are multiplying.

depending on the route, it is 3 to 7 traffic lights. usually, i will kill it if dealing with the sloth-like-reaction-times. once the engine heat transfers to the 'frame', it takes forever to cool it down.

Out of ignorance, may I ask how running the fan marginally longer/earlier would be taxing on the electrical system?

I guess whatever the useful life of the fan is would be shortened somewhat but... I can’t imagine the drain in the battery is significant.

This seems like a great mod but I am curious what the downsides could be.
(Admittedly, just using water wetter may be easier, safer, etc.)

Vague down sides running fans at lower temps IMHO:
So ya, maybe your fans will last less years, but your fans are less expensive than the engine and your roasting butt.

If your battery is not charging well - let's say on older bikes or bikes that aren't charging the battery at idling RPM which used to be typical, your battery can run a little lower,
IF you're just sitting around at very low RPMs not charging. If you're at 2000RPMs you're usually charging the bat.

I ran my fans way earlier on my 848 - it ran better stopped overheating. I should do that to my V4S as well, it just makes sense. I usually have my bikes on battery tenders anyway.

just my opinion on using a 200 degree threshold. the thermostat looks like it opens at 183 and then the fan coming on at 185 would be a constant battle. if one used a 170 degree thermostat, it would be a different story.

in my driving environment (speed, gear, load and normal ambient) the temps run 195-199.

No more ugly on the brakes..

no spacer needed, I also took off the lower spacers

So effectively you have 10mm smaller diameter rotors than you did?
Don’t think so, the calipers sit in the same position, as they were before.
the spacers just add more in the back of the caliper.
The set up is the same as the 959, that has the reflectors on the fork tube.. I think the spacers where there to add visual simmetry to the caliper, as the reflectors are now there, with a plate added to the caliper..nothing more.. (I can be wrong..)

in order to move the caliper further from the fork (maybe for bigger disks, the spacer should be in the front of the caliper, not in the back

I changed the bar ends with the Ducati/Rizoma ones. Looks a lot better than the grey OEM's and it completes the look with the Rizoma gas cap :p

I really like those Rizoma bar ends, to bad they won't work with the CRG Arrow mirrors. Are the pro grips any better at reducing vibrations ? My hand start to go numb after about 40 mins of riding.

Thanks! Honestly, I can't answer that as I had them changed from the start so I always rode with them. Apparently they do add comfort. So for the price I would just go ahead with them. They can't be worse plus they look nice :p

I put the heat shield kit on the V2 last night. Good lord but it was a lot of work taking those side panels off.

Don I thought this was your lathe did you upgrade finally?
