What octane is this bike tuned for?

Just a friendly note... when quoting ‘octane’ numbers it would be helpful to say RON or MON or PON or AKI or, as is the case where I live... (RON+MON)/2. Apples to apples.

Or at least differentiate between North Amartica and the rest of the planet.

For example 95 RON in Europe is equivalent to 91 (R+M)/2 in USA and Canada. And also more or less the same as 91 AKI as may be found in Australia and parts of the USA and Canada for example. Some regions use PON (pump octane number). No worries, it’s the same as AKI or (R+M)/2

So when I say I use 94 (R+M)/2 or 94 AKI, it’s the same as a rider in the EU saying they use use 100 RON. Same juice

Any discussion about one fuel being better, worse, or the same as another is meaningless if you don’t say the units of measure.

Kinda like “Hey, this block of cheese weighs 2.54 pounds”. “No it weighs 1.0 kilogram”. “You’re wrong”. “No you’re wrong”. Fisticuffs ensue.

This guy octanes. As someone who previously was responsible for the chemical engineering and manufacture of high octane blend stocks it drives me batty when people argue one regional octane being "better" fuel without the unit of measure.

im not sure what octane the bike was tuned for, not sure how anyone but the engineers could know that, but I am very confident it was tuned for regular pump fuel up to e10.

if that is the case adding ethenol free is going to make the bike richer then it would be with e10
