Just like the title. buying an 1199s Marchesini rim and got scammed by a seller named EthanNoel. feeling really hopeless now.

I've bought a rim from a guy named Ethan Noel Sigle. And I used Crypto to send 0.018 BTC to his account on 8, July. But since the money is sent, Ethan disappeared right away. And it has been 5 days though. So I'm pretty sure that I'm scammed by this guy.

This site is rife with shitbag scammers lurking in the background. I have bought a few items but only from posters with history and they follow the rules.

All times insist items need to be posted with a picture and a handwritten note next to it with the posters username and date, not photoshopped. Most scammers are to lazy to do this if they have the item which they usually dont. Second insist on using Paypal, not F&F, or get a friend in the sellers country to use it.

Avoid dealing with one hit wonders, especially if it seems too good to be true. Also some people are just ......s like the guy offering the pani as parts, then as whole bike for months and despite offers at his asking decided to pull the pin on it. Shady people give themselves away if you ask enough questions and they hang around long enough.

There does not appear to be any moderation on this forum either.

Finally, cut your losses and move on. I know its crap but thats how it is, something better will come along.

Thanks for your kind reply, friend. I and Ethan Noel Sigle had been mailing for a long time. I guess he's patient for doing this. I even got a pic of having my mail on it.

thats a fake. if you put it in photoshop and zoom right in you'll see red blurring where he selected it and then tried to blend it in. Plus the glare that hides the black would hide the red.

That's all you can do. Accept the loss, say .... it and move on.

Good on you for posting about it. Hopefully someone will read your post and learn something.

yeah dude, that's a lesson of mine. Thanks for you inspiration. I'll keep moving on.

Oh the guy had literally 0 posts :( Sorry that itself was a big red flag.

This indeed ! Make sure you check history of seller. Has the seller posted on the board before and does seller look like an active member. As Paul G mentioned in his post, there seem to be next to no moderation on the board either (hence all the recent .... posts discussing everything from portable aircons to teeth straightening).
