What's your riding mode (wet, sport, race)

I've customized all the setting but with the new map on run in 195lo as its all 1-2-3 gear very tight twisties and it's too responsive on hi to be smooth. Well for me anyway!

Same issue, but I really want to go back to 195Hi as its just proper hooligan.

Thing is with all this adjustability, you never really NEED to learn and adapt to the bikes behaviour.

195Hi for example, given time, I'm sure I'll get smooth with 1-2-3 gears on twisties.

Race mode changed dash non race dash though. i dont need a lap timer in nyc lol

I ride Sport, but changed it to be the 195HI of Race. I only use Wet when I race Beemers and Yamaha's.

+1 sport mode with 195 Hi because I need to see the speedo as the main display instead of the lap timer to prevent those yellow invitations the police likes to hand out.

You can change what the display gives you in the mode you are in..

I am in Race mode but I still have the speedo as my main display....

I have found myself switching between, and playing with settings depending on where I'm riding and how aggressive I'm feeling.

The only issue I have is the slight 'surging' that mars an otherwise sublime power delivery in both Hi and Lo.

We have a stupid law here which doubles the penalty for speeding on and around public holidays so 120 is good for those days simply and it is definitely more relaxing than having to throw yourself into a racing crouch every time you grab the throttle.

i ride in race mode on the track, in sport, when on the road and in wet, when wet.

sport is 195 hi ... that's it. and that's what it's for ;-)

I have changed every setting on there. I have wet jacked up on every level for current cold and/or rain condition, sport for softer in town commute (though still at 195hi), and race as raced out as I want to get, still leave engine braking on 2 since not for a track for spirited mountain rides. I simply cannot believe how adjustible this bike is,and on the fly no less. That, to me, is its best quality.

Thanks! I thought I had read something about that. I havent played with it that much to figure it all out yet.

It's terribly easy. Just as you can modify from 195 hi to 195 lo or whatever, it has a display option, click on that and set the display you want. I kee the same display on all my modes.

You can change all settings from the dash for every mode on an S. I wish it had 1 or 2 custom memory slots.
Base model doesnt have suspension settings on the dash

Humm... you could first see these 3 settings (race/sport/rain) as your customized slots .There is always the "default" to bring any back to factory original.

Guys I have a question.

I ride on the road in Sport with 195Hi, ( wet mode I have 195Lo, just couldn't stand 120 even in the rain)

My question is what exactly does this change by going from the factory Sport 195 Lo to Hi? Just curious.

Also has anyone noticed that after the latest map upgrade the race mode is very angry at low speeds and is quite a handful at the track of course. I think too much for the road?

Sport 195hi w QS off most of the time, race 195Hi QS on when I get out to play.

Good question! Obviously you now get the same map as per your Race mode (Ducati call it an instant throttle response rather than a smooth one) but all the other parameters (EBC/DTC etc) remain on the more intrusive settings.

How the bike actually manages the difference between 195hi and 195lo I've no idea. I imagine it's a different map, one that is programmed to be softer at lower throttle settings but gives you full power when you crack the throttle open. The R1 had a similar philosophy, the different modes either softened or sharpened the initial response when rolling on, once you'd cracked the throttle open though all modes gave you full power.

I agree after the reflash the bike is more responsive at low speeds. The weather has been crappy for a few months here so haven't been able to decide if 195hi is too sensitive for the road or not.

One other point of interest. A friend rides in 195hi with DTC 3, he upped DTC to 5 as winter approached. He is convinced that the bike is slower (same map - 195hi) with a higher DTC setting. I can't see that it should make any difference until the light comes on and DTC starts kicking in. Has anyone else experienced this?

I find 195Hi a bit of a beast on the road now, but I do like the inadvertent power wheelies :D

I tend to be quite gentle with the throttle, so 195Lo doesn't stimulate me quite so much.

That would actually make sense and is worth some experimentation.

The electronics package is supposed to be more pro-active on the 1199, so rather than wait for wheel spin, it may soften power delivery earlier with a higher DTC setting.
