Ok.. If you have Ohlins Forks you will buy 1 item in each link. If you have Marzochhis we buy the first link. And if we can five members with Marz's to order it Frank said he will make the fender kits for our bikes so we do not have to remove the calipers. It will then be just as fast as in the video..

Both Ohlins and Marz need this..

Mike

I have one for my bike. Should be all back together soon. If you have a base, its not a full quick change. You still need to remove the caliper bolts, but the fork pinch bolts will never be touched again. For the guys with Ohlins forks, its a complete quick change.

Calipers are easy as pie.. its the pinch bolt bs that gets me lol.. Can't wait..

Want to see a video....:)

The only one I can find, the 15 seconds, doesn't really show how well it works....

I want to see it done on the front wheel of a 1098 or 1299 with pads in the calipers before I become a true believer.... :)

Keep us posted as to the group buy price. I'm interested

The video I posted up top was an 1199. Same as 1098 and 1299

My apologies, didn't see that last video.

I've got to try using my under the triple front stand and to see if I can do the same thing with the calipers, just swinging them out.

Thanks

You can't twist them out without the fender bracket kit, as the fender is bolted to the forks and won't let lowers twist, and if you did, would break fender. The kit he makes wraps the fender mount around bottom of fork tubes, allowing it to spin on tubes. Last I knew he needed to dissemble forks to get install kit

Does this still require the oem fender mounts to be machined off of the fork lowers for the kit to work? That's the part I always saw as a huge downside unless you're building a full-on race bike.

No he makes it to were it mounts right up now..

I will ask.. I should have more details shortly..

If you have Ohlins forks, you need to machine the fender mounts off. The kit comes with brackets so that it allows the fender to flex and you don't need to touch any bolts. 5 sec tire changes for the front. For the Base model 1199, there is no gender kit available.

I think machining the disassembled fork is still required if flipping the calipers is wanted.

I saw a very nice solution last year: I guy installed FF's axle and made two little quick release brackets to remove the fender on his 1040.

Top shelf work from FF. I have a custom quick change setup on my R1 made by him. Works a treat. He's an all around nice guy too!
