Wheelie Control

Figured i'd add my feedback on this subject since this thread has been brought back from the dead before anyways.

Wet mode - I couldn't get anywhere

Sport mode - Power wheelies in 1st,all stock settings - very doable. However it seemed the bike "learned" what I was doing after a few times. It would bring me back down quick! Definitely not very consistent.Have NOT gotten front up in 2nd at all!

Today I decided to turn off DTC completely off and WHOA! The wheel came up no hesitation on any attempt I made and higher.

Now im thinking I wanna switch it to 195Hi in Sport as well.

One thing I cant do to save my life is clutch wheelie. This hydraulic clutch engages so late.I cant just blip' it like a cable clutch. Not sure if there's a way to adjust the engagement point.

Not that I like doing wheelies all the time but every now and then it feels good to pop 1 up.I paid for raw power so DTC don't hold me down so much. :p

Front would come up on 2nd easily in sport mode at 195Lo when provoked, particularly around 80-100 kph, and especially when just going over a crest. In fact, I found it easier to wheelie in 2nd gear than 1st, as the rear is less likely to spin if I get too-hamfisted.

The Superleggera will have wheelie control, based on an additional inertial sensor. I guess next year all new pani will have it.

Sorry pogly the wheelie intervention works even with the DTC set to off. you cannot turn it off.
Even the 848 has wheelie control. Because it is a rate of change system you can wheelie if you do it slowly - like with a power wheelie.
But if you try to clutch it up like most stunt guys do the engine will cut.

On bikes with DTC wheelie control will be more pronounced as you set the DTC above 3, at 6 you can't even power wheelie.

I almost always ride with my DTC off.

I know that the SBKs and the SF all have wheelie control. I don't know if any of the air cooled bikes do.

i have my DTC set on 5 in my sport mode and i can power wheelie in 2nd pretty fast and shift right into 3rd and keep on going for a mile...it comes right on up. certainly comes up much faster with the DTC off however...

The odd thing is that it doesn't seem like my MTS has the same wheelie intervention as the Streetfighter.

Since the 1199 will have a Siemans ECU similar to the MTS I'm hoping that wheelie control is either very subtle, or even better, not included on the pani.

We'll find out soon. ;)

DTC on 5 out of 8 in sport, i can power wheelie all day in 2nd, shift right into 3rd...4th...and keep on going with no intervention. it just seems to come up a little slower in second than with the DTC off in race mode, yet still comes right up. i clutch it up in 3rd at 80 ish and the only time it intervenes is when i clutch it too hard and the wheel spins. as long as the wheel grips the front comes right on up every time.

There is no wheelie control its bs. For starters if you power wheelie it, you will eventually flip it. I wheelie in first mostly, in race mode, but I slip the clutch at 15- 20 mph and ride at bp, and shift to second (45 mph tops). From my experience its al about throttle control, if u are sloppy it will buck and tc will kick in, if you are smooth and slip it will not. Whacking the throttle open in 2nd and twisting the throttle with end bad, for some.

That is correct, there is no electronic wheelie control on any Panigale model except the Superleggera. If the DTC is cutting in, it's because the tire has started spinning not because you're in a wheelie.
