Ordered the 1299s and worried about insurance. Anyone get solid quotes yet.

i checked, too, with my current insurance, and was told that because it's not in the system yet (they said VIN would help), they were giving ball-park figures. definitely more than 1199

This makes no sense to me..... why would 1299 be more expensive to insure??

No solid quotes yet, but the guy I use said it would be somewhat pricey for me.

I'm one of those evil dudes who hasn't used credit in 20+ years and even though I've had a clean driving record for 30+ years, the lack of credit kills me...Oh well....

As an FYI, Progressive quoted me 150/mo for an 1199 and said the 1299 should be close...

Chris

I went ahead and got a quote from Rider who does my current insurance for you guys to use as s reference.

My 14' 1199 Full Coverage is $953 for year. no tickets or accidents

1299s coverage for the same would be $1088 for a year. Not much difference.

Both with $250 Deductible

Check out Rider if its in your State.

I just put a down payment for a 1299S. Dealer said that I am one of the guys getting it 2nd week of April. First Ducati but not new to superbikes.

Definitely keep us posted. Stopped in my local dealer here in Ohio and still no confirmation when they'll be arriving. He said they usually get an email a couple weeks before they're due to arrive and nothing yet. Could be wrong but I'd assume the bikes would hit the east coast first and then be transported through the U.S. .
Unfortunately the weather still blows here so not get overly anxious for bikes arrival yet. Actually snowing this beautiful spring day.

money down on a 1299S supposed to be end of April beginning of May. its frricking freezing here too LOL

So after working some stuff out with the dealer, I decided to upgrade to an "S" instead of the base.

Either way, I am happy :)

That's sounds way to inexpensive for the year
How the hell is that possible ,
$600 for the year for the new 2015
1199R[emoji15][emoji84]

That was what I was quoted for 50/100/50. I think it is low too and expect it to go up when it is time for my wallet to open!

I paid $550 for a year for my 1199R (2014 model).. I had a clean record and lived in MN.. this was for full coverage with pretty high coverage levels for body injury, property damage etc and $500 deductible. In addition I had really good credit so maybe all of these combined gave me a really good quote.

Since the 2015 R is the same engine capacity, State Farm isnt going to change their rates so it would stay the same..

When I was in MN, they offered the best rate for the coverage I wanted. GEICO and Progressive are total ripoffs IMO.

I have no accidents and all that
But up here in Canada the 1199s tricolore is like $1800 and I can only guess the R costs more...

You guys have it good no doubt ...[emoji298]️

My quote for the 1299S from State Farm is $760 for the whole year and that's with 1 speeding ticket on my record.

Also went with State Farm, found it to be the best by far in US. I think the quote was around $600/yr. No tickets, 30 yrs.

I have just put a deposit down on a 1299 base as my new race bike . Is all the electronics the same as the S ?

Not even close....

That being said if this is going to be your dedicated race bike you made the right decision with the base model.
