Or, if you're really worried about the sensors magically clogging up, you disconnect them, then unbolt them, and replace with a bolt to block the hole.

It may take you five/ten minutes. Not really a hardship to get the exhaust that you want.

I was told the same by two dealers in Italy. Only Akra is supported by the Ducati warranty - seems like a .... move to do that.
I wonder if it's legal in the US to cancel warranties for such things. I don't know.

If you want the official map then you need the Akra.

Yes, you can get the Termi and get an UpMap but there is a catch. You will need to unplug the sensor connectors for it to run properly AND you will need to remove the sensors from the exhaust if you don't want them to clog up. Even if you just unplug the connectors but leave the sensors in the exhaust and thing you can just return to the stock map anytime you are wrong. The sensors will be clogged and it will run like ..... So, going Termi means going map and no turning back. You therefore need to bring in considerations about warranty and re-sell value.

Warranty is still valid but if anything happened that could be attributed to the fitting of an aftermarket part then it won't be covered. For example, if you fit a full radiator protector and your bike overheats for another reason, you will have a hard time getting Ducati to fix it on warranty. Your warranty is still 100% valid, it's the room you provide the manufacturer to deny the claim.

There's a reason no V4 MotoGP bike has an exhaust configured like the Akrapovic.

Every V4 MotoGP has an exhaust configuration like the Termi. Front two exit by the rear wheel, rear two exit under the seat.

I doubt it is coincidence.

Yes, because all litre bikes are essentially MotoGP bikes, right?

On the other hand, the Aruba.it bikes in WSBK which may be just slightly closer to what we actually buy in the dealership, use the same configuration as the Akrapovic.

Um, no, I'm not suggesting that litre bikes are all MotoGP bikes.

I'm suggesting, that there's no coincidence that every V4 engined MotoGP bike has it's exhaust configured the same way. And that, in MotoGP, their sole objective is performance. Given 100% free reign, they all came up with the same design/layout.

Whereas, in WSBK, you might suggest, that the bikes need to look more like the road bikes (why would you put a sticker of a headlight on a race bike) for marketing. And due to this, they follow the exhaust configuration of the road bike.

This is the same reason Ducati kept trellis frames, L90° engines, etc etc in MotoGP for way too long. They need to sell bikes to pay for racing, so they try to maintain connections.
But ya, if they don't win anymore... Now I sit on a Desmosedici(-stradale)

I wonder if it is here. Sales guys, sometimes they may stretch the discussion a little.
I'm also flailing about with this decision. Slip-ons seems like a stupid move looking at the small price dif for what you get with full Ti system. It's a joke.
But if I go full race exhaust, I hear entering 3 meters into Switzerland or Austria and I'll have fines up the wazoo. Also not sure how "real" this is.
In Italy it's not legal either to ride around with race exhaust but, they give a lot of leeway to Ducati. I see them all the time on the road. Sorry kind of thread jacking.

It’s not legal in the US to cancel a warranty like they do in Italy under those same circumstances.

I dont know how my oem ducati passes noise tests. Its the loudest stock bike I've been on.

It has to do with how they are tested. They are only testing a specified speed at a specified distance. For example, it can't be more than 85db at 35 mph when tested from 20' away.
