US politics is a total shitshow, but to be fair most of us here would get on just fine if we met up for a ride or a beer. Dont like this thread? then just dont click on it but its like having that big red button with the words "dont press" on it!
 
It's a shame politics are what they are and Trump has expansionist and isolationist dreams for the US...I miss the early days of NAFTA where tarrifs we almost non-existant and goods flowed in both direction on anything that met the incoming countries regulations (ex. Food regulations differ between the 2 countries so some products are not allowed).

That comment makes no sense. 0% tarrif trades promotes sales, drops cost to end user and promotes competition. Each country has its strengths and weaknesses and production costs are lower in different areas. Canada has more resources than they need. USA has more manufacturing. Lower cost of raw materials drops costs of manufacturing which drops costs for US consumers...0% from US to Canada drops costs of final product to Canadian consumers.

you dont need to quote me a text book statement that you read an the university. it doesnt work like that in the real life.

open up aliexpress and then open up ricardo.ch and compare.

reality is that same countries produce same stuff - the most notable example is the agricultural products.

you know why Swiss are so adamant protecting Migros and Coop mafia and steadily decreasing tax free allowance ? 10mins across the border buys you same or better quality products at half cost.
