Who is excited about the Ducati V4?

totally agree. Ducati's been racing the L4 in Motogp since 2003. For the last couple year, they are able to squeeze more juice out of 1000cc than everyone else on the grid.

If they can keep the prices relative similar to current line-up, $20k base, $25k S, sign me up.

For those who reminisce about tradition, you have to go back to the 2011 1198SP.

did they give pricing on the "final" panigale yet? seriously no ducati that has come out since the original 1199 has made me say i have to have that especially the "final" panigale.

the v4 ill wait till they are half off now that i learned the hard way they the bikes have 0 resale value.

until then my hp4 is the most amazing bike AND i still have an all carbon 1199s. im good.

as a matter of fact to celebrate the "final" panigale and the v4 i bought 2 wave runners.

thanks ducati for teaching me not to buy your bikes

Do you ever have anything positive to say? If not, don't bother posting in any threads I start, thanks for your consideration.

Thing is, if everybody does the whole "never buy a 1st gen anything" then how would they find all the bugs or get general feedback on how good/bad something is?

The philosophical question is mute. Reality is that plenty of people including myself on occasion do purchase first generation of products, the so called "early adopters."

If they raise the prices again they will certainly hurt sales. At 20k for the base it's already priced out of the market.

Someone wrote the base will be a 1200v4. I have very little interest in that configuration. But who knows, time changes many things.

I'm kind of in the same boat with this line of thought. Sure, you can wait and wait and wait until that perfect moment, but hell, you only get 1 life to live. I just don't see throwing away some good years because "it wasn't perfect".

Honestly, this platform has seen a good 10+ yrs of R&D already in MotoGP. It's not in the same state as was the Panigale when it was manf. and delivered. They will likely be further ahead of the curve on release of the V4. Now, there will be issues, it's just hard to say how significant those issues will or won't be.

As for me, I "weighed" pretty heavily on the RSV4 before landing on the Pani. Had the electronics and **weight** (omg the weight..) been where I wanted them to be, I would have an RSV4. Once I can see some specs on the V4 and if they are close to where I hope they will be, I'll have my deposit in ASAP.

Hey now....the RSV4 is not fat, it's just big boned! Get her on the track and see she handles just fine with the extra baby fat.

I was underwhelmed by the 1199 when it was released. the melted fairings, starting and stalling issues, less then stellar power band, the complaints of jittery handling and the big ugly heat shield I couldn't get past. So I waited. When the 1299 was announced, it appeared they had solved many of those issues in the motor, better and stronger power delivery, changed the geometry for better handling, more appealing bodywork, redesigned heat shield and the black exhaust cans were much nicer to look at. I bought a 2015 and it's been a great bike. I would not buy a first year to Ducati, maybe third year. Seems it takes them that long to get everything dialed in.

No big ugly heat shield on the first 1199. Plenty of power. My fairing did not melt. Mine starts fine, always has. Does not stall unless its my fault. Its the best handling bike I have ever had. :)

Considering I just picked up an 17 RSV4, I am probably 3 years out from picking up the new V4 Duc. If I could swap the RSV4 drivetrain into my 1299s, it would be an epic bike. I am looking forward to what Ducati does with this opportunity to build a bike head and shoulders above the competition.

Not to add fuel to the fire but this is what Kar Lee came up with for what the V4 could look like.

Renderings and concept drawings always look too similar to the current model. The real deal almost never looks anything like what they're replacing. That CGI model doesn't hold any water imo.

So basically the V4 can look just like a Panigale? I would expect the V4 to look as much like a Panigale as the Panigale looked like the 1198 and the 1198 looked like the 999.

rumor goes base & S model will be 1200cc / V4. I really hoping it's not. I think a 200hp 1000c L4 is reasonable, maybe 210/215 for R street trim. Last thing is a fat body 1200cc 4 cylinder, weighing 20lbs more than the current panigale.

I agree. I'm thinking more of an evolution rather than a revolution in looks. Something that still retains some styling cues of the Panigale but it has to be distinctively different in its own way.

Yeah, keep it mean and lean as possible. Maybe they will develop another similar engine that shares some components for use on other bigger bikes.

I normally spoil myself with new ...., just because I can, and I don't have brats.
That said I have seen Ducati service in South Africa no dealer commitment ...smart mouth ......s in JHB, expecting us to take our bikes to ... in backyard place were your wife could not come to pick u up fearing her life....they call this a service center?
Now want me to buy say a R350000.00 bike ..... my Panigale has less than 4000 km on clock I will just keep it because it looks nice in my garage, I don't live in a first world country like you nobs I live in Cape Town and here we have no fukin dealer.
Before you mothers get on your high horse and tell me about there new plans for a dealer in the waterfront....I'm tired of that rumor Ferrari are open, and selling cars Ducati / Porsche have not even formalised the lease yet,,wtf and now spend the equivalent of a small African country on bike from these twits???? No chance!

Honda on the other hand helped me with my cash and gave me a new blade, very different but I'm enjoying it.
If Ducati had a dealer in CT I'm sure they would pull me as client, until then I will just read comments and wonder what it will be like

As for the guy who purchased the two Yamaha wave runners good on you, Ducati do ... all to secure clients and repeat business.

Mine melted but they replaced it asap. I have full termi so nice shiny carbon heat sheild small. Mine never had an issue starting nor has it ever stalled except for me stalling it as brad said. Whether it's the old r new r 1299 1299 finale I'm about looks. Only Ducati that made me drool after the tri was the anniversary. Keep your v4 keep the finale. Unless they put something in it I truly want Ducati is done for me. Actually bikes are done by me for a while.

Hahaha don't post if you don't want me to reply. I'm not excited about anything that's coming out because it's the same crap that's out now with a good marketing campaign.
You want me to be positive ok I'll be positive. I'm positive nothing coming out relatively soon I'll be interested in.
