So where in your house do you keep your full size cardboard Rossi cutout? :)

ok i will let you in on a little secret. i have a framed rossi picture on one of my walls before i moved. its not up yet in my new house as im lazy and didnt fully unpack all my stuff. i got it 2016 cota.

i have many pictures framed. rossi will always be part of motogp you cant deny that, so he had to be part of the collection. i dont like or follow basketball but if i did i can tell you i dont like lebron but if i had pictures of nba guys he would have to be included as part of the era.

Think it's going to be a bit heavier and wider for sure, curious to see

The spy shots the other week the motor looked wider, but it was just a test mule. I'm really not wanting a massively heavier bike, a few pounds, sure, but 15 - 20 +, I'm raising eyebrows

I agree with you Mutt.

Not only that,
At WSBK Laguna Seca, I went around to the vendors and sat on ALL bikes again and trying Honda CBR being new one I havent sat on.

It reminds me every time, how FAT other manufacture's are compared to Panigale. Felt like sitting on a elephant or a rhino.

I hope its not too fat and not too heavy.

Just an example, Aprillia RSV4 = 208 kg wet

That's massive, I want nowhere near that. May as well go and get an H2!

I agree on the width too, I'm only a small guy and love that about the Panigale, much wider is going to be a turn off.

I'm hoping Ducati are well aware of this........?

I really think they do and I believe they will do their best to keep it as light as possible and thin as possible.

Having said that, I dont think they can beat current Panigale in that aspect at similar cost. Unless, of course something like V4 SL with price of $80,000 + come out that will be super light which I cant afford.

I will be keeping my R for sure but will pick up V4 R in few years.

I just hope we get that DSC and DPL in an affordable V Twin before the Panigale bows out.

Lean and lithe[emoji106] hopefully. Took some getting used to the narrow girth of the pani but as you say when u throw a leg over anything else after riding the big duc for a while it feels like a barge. I'd imagine they'll be trying to replicate the same kind of stance.

Aprilia for whatever reason is the heaviest literbike out there. I had a 15 RSV4 Factory. Absolute pig. 460-462 wet. S1000rr is ten pounds lighter. I wasn't impressed with the V4 layout. Yeah its not a twin a triple or an I4. I'm sure it will be lighter than the Aprilia but you still have more cams/parts up top. Did they reveal the vee angle yet?

With the V4 at 90 degrees should be interesting as not as compact as Aprilia.
More traditional for sure. Wonder how this will affect gyroscopic interia vs 65 degress??

I think the RSV4 is down to 450 wet now and is within reach of the other liter bikes. The 17 RSV4 is actually claimed lighter than the s1000rr per each manufacturer wet weight claims. I just purchased a 17 RSV4 and I didn't realize what I was missing all of these years, it is mechanically superior to my 1299.

Please explain what you mean by mechanically superior. In what ways?

The engine has a much more usable power band and the gearbox is much smoother. The 1299 feels so different because it doesn't really rev and the power delivery is underwhelming. The RSV4 feels more responsive, the power delivery is very linear and it shifts very smooth. The 1299 vibrates like an unbalanced washing machine while the RSV4 is calm. I came from years of unlined 4 Japanese bikes and the 1299 was not what I expected. With all of the said, the 1299 is still an amazing bike and I won't trade my 1299 for anything; it is just nice to have some diversity in the stable.

Granted, the RSV4 is smoother, and revs higher, but the 1299 power is delivered in a different range. I don't have a 17 RSV4 but I do have a 13. I was just interested in your take as to why you thought the 1299 would be considered inferior to the RSV4.
