Based on what my BSB mates tell me, Gen4 platform was a breakthrough in 2019 from point of view of electronics in STK.

Unfortunately, it was so complicated that once Honda released a new bike and HRT released ECU everyone in BSB STK had jumped on it and never looked back.

BMW today is a niche Isle of Man bike, where a type of bike doesnt really matter, type of cojones does.

BMW has def made a step, Toprak + MVDM are moving. Redding + Gerloff not on pace.

One thing is certain, first it was Moto GP but now in WSBK - rest in peace Japanese manufacturers

Bonobo probably hasn’t gotten the new rear end.

Bautista is still the man to beat. 14th to 3rd and only a couple secs off the winner. Has great tire conservation

yep but thank you japan for all the good times, without you motorcycling would still be harleys and leaky twins

Whatever! Japans contribution to motorcycling is gargantuan, just because Ducati has finally arrived at the top step in GP doesn't mean Japan is over. When Japan got involved in motorcycle racing they proceeded to pretty much own it with a few exceptions. Lets see if the europeans can keep the momentum for the next 50 years, somehow I doubt it as they are too busy waving rainbow flags, sucking up the the greens and trying to kill ICE! I absolutely love the fact that Ducati are having their moment in the sun but its Gigi who has led the charge and exploited the MotoGP rulebook or pamphlet as some call it. Get rid of ride height, limit aero and lets see how it plays out then, there is no doubt the Japanese have been caught napping but Suzuki and Yamaha were WC's only 5 minutes ago!

Japan might be down but not out. They take losing personally. I’m surprised we haven’t seen a Honda engineer commit sepuku yet. But if there’s any manufacturer that takes racing seriously, it’s Honda. They just need to find the right package like how BMW has done. And they have the resources and engineering to cover the gap. Yamaha and Kawa have me worried just due to their smaller financials and stagnant development.

PS put new front hubs on my 4Runner and it was a joy to work on. It’s 13 yrs old with 126k mi and it came apart and back together so easily. It was like 10x easier than working on the Ducati. If there’s anything that Ducati could learn from Japan it would be ease of servicing. May make the switch to the new Fireblade just for the ease of maintenance

Fair points, fully agree on the whole european decay.

Just yesterday have been talking here how Misano and Mugello started to enforce much stricter noise limits. To the point that you can't ride SBK engine on trackdays anymore.
