I mean, is anyone going to just build only race track version. Fairings, lights, side stand etc. Im just curious

I'm seriously considering it but it is more likely that I'll wait for the R version in 2019.

On track - yes, definitely.

Full track build - no, because I spend most of my time riding on the road.

i'm in the same boat, i'm getting the 959 corsa and the R which will be 1000cc and rev to the moon. I'm hearing price will be circa $45k

Not sure where you heard that the price will be $45k. There are a lot of price caps for WSBK homologation and I believe the price of the homologation model is also capped at $40k. Also, they have rev limits. Right now it's 14,700 for 4 cylinder bikes and 12,800 for the Panigale.

probably because i have to pay NYC tax but i thought the price caps were being reviewed but i may be wrong.

BTW @ Sherpa23 awesome list of bikes if you get a chance could you post some pics.

They could be changing, that's true. At this point I don't think they have but more importantly I wasnt referring to the price with taxes and all so maybe for you it will be $45 when it's all said and done.

I can never get pics to post here. If you're on IG there are pics on my IG profile.

Wait. Trying Tapatalk. Let's see if I️ can get pics to post.

I think the price cap is 40k euro, not dollars. That would be just north of 46k usd. I'm pretty sure the R will be 44-45k usd before tax n such.

It will totally depend on how it's spec'd out. They've done "bare bones" R-Models before, as well as blinged-out collector R-Models. I'm going to guess this next one will be bare bones for racing with minimal bling added, particularly since we have the Speciale model already. The current Panigale R is a bare bones racing model, just a few carbon bits on it, but not a lot of other bling, all of the extra money is in the performance aspects.

I'm all for it being tracked out as it will never see the street but it would be great if they offered an additional package where for x amount of dollars you could get a race kit with upgraded wheels, trackbody work, rearsets etc. I would gladly buy it.

That might actually happen, Ducati has been doing a lot of accessory "packages" lately, I could see us getting a "V4 Track Package" of some kind. If not, we'll just have to make our own.

I think that the R, even a "basic" R, will be a beast. I predict a double sided swing arm and a race exhaust similar to the 1299SL exhaust and probably some other cool stuff. Will be very interesting to see.

My plan is to ride all season, test, collect track stuff deficated for v4 and then buy R to start at superstock1000 class in my country.

yea i think the double sided swingarm will be way forward especially with the additional power.

I don't know, they're confident in the new single-sided swingarm handing 226HP with no problem, so I don't think it's a no-brainer to switch. Ducati has a lot of marketing advantage in the SBK having the single-sided swingarm so I think they'll keep it if they can, we'll see.

I will be so happy if they just take a base V4, add forged wheels, manually adjusted Ohlins, the full Akra exhaust, and spend all of the remaining money on the engine, electronics, and real performance mods (like chassis tuning). No bling.

hard to believe we are talking about 226bhp production bikes that have two year warranties backing them. looking forward to getting some details on it
