Will Ducati be in trouble now that VAG is in shambles

Ducati may be on the chopping block or about to see severe hardship due to VAG’s mismanagement. VW is in turmoil with their stock price down 50% and labor force is striking. Audi profits are down 45%. Combined with KTM being in dire straits, I’m thinking VAG is going to similarly restructure to reduce debt and a Chinese investment group will be picking up the pieces.

I think everyone in Europe is, isnt it ?

mainly because of prior green policies/hatred towards combustion engine and shiet they've done to gas/oil procurements after Feb 2021

I heard Red Bull may be chipping in to keep KTM program afloat. I doubt Ducati is going to get pinched. IIRC, Ducati Corse is a separate entity from Ducati as we know them. It's kind of the reason why Ducati Corse stuff is so difficult to get; they aren't in the Ducati parts pipeline in any way.

Whenever I drop in to my local BMW/Ducati/MotoMorini/MVAgusta dealership, someone is always at the Sales desk filling out paperwork, and the Service area seems to be kept hopping. So, the local sales part of the business seems to be pretty healthy. As for the Parent company's financial situation back home, I'm not so sure. Panibadboy has it pretty much nailed about the Business environment in Europe, though. The Japanese bike manufacturers are taking a hit as well. Sales are down for everyone, thanks to all the stupid oil sanctions and politics currently going on. Harley may go into bankruptcy again, for the ???th time? And then there's the 'renewables' foolishness they keep trying to foist on us. People buy the electrics, but not a s a first choice, and I expect THAT silly notion to soon be put to bed, hopefully with a wooden stake through it's heart.

Just proves the age old adage. Go Woke, Go Broke. Motorcycles are for MEN. . and REAL Women... not for wannabes. And MEN and WOMEN don't tolerate weak kneed linguini spined, simpering, whimpering, faked out beyond belief, nose ringed, dermal pierced, blue/red/orange/green haired .... 'persons' with 18 pronouns trying to run the World. We really don't. Wannabes stay home, stop screwing around with reality.

And FWIW, the Vasectomy rate in Blue states has jumped 18 times normal, and the requests by women to have their tubes tied has also skyrocketed, because they fear the inability to terminate their unborn on demand. Juries out on if that is a good or bad thing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Red Bull is over leveraged. Just a matter of time when that bubble will burst. The F1 team reported a -37% decrease in profits and barely broke even last year. That’s while things were good. Now that they’re 3rd I can’t imagine…

Watching what's happening in the West is like watching a car crash in slow motion. 🫣 It's total self-sabotage and economic suicide (for most - some are doing very nicely from it) in pursuit of questionable, at best, goals and ideologies.

It makes you wonder what the end game is, because our glorious leaders (elected and unelected) surely cannot be that dumb. Or maybe they can... it's hard to tell.

We are truly living in an Idiocracy...

At 67 yrs old I'm happy to have had this time frame on earth! 70's British bikes, 85, 05 GSXR's to the 23 V4R!
Raced over 4 decades, broke the speed limits by X3 with no worries about cell phone cops. I live in Oil country Alberta. Oh the good old days! I can see all future vehicles sold limited to the posted speed limit by on board computer. All the hardware is already on board.

Our leaders are idiots but with great power, 3x speed limit is clearly safe because here you still are. Enjoy the R, and if one day we are all in Musks electric transportation data recorded for the little hitlers to criminalize our every move, hopefully we can still go to the track

I thought part of the reason VAG bought Ducati was for them to meet average corporate smog and fuel consumption requirements. If this is the case they won't be able to sell Ducati without altering their product mix which would further hurt them financially. I believe this will be the highest performance motorcycle (in its final iteration 2028?) that Ducati will ever be allowed to sell for road use.

I agree, these exquisite machines we have today are going to go extinct, soon. Sport bikes do not sell like they used to 20 yrs ago. Shame

People don't have the disposable income they had before the Chinese virus was released. Now our money buys us 50% of what it did 4 years ago, they blame everything and everybody, but the fact is we're all been fleeced to fund the elite. Look at profits from anyone supplying us food, utilities, or fuel, all rocketed. Surely if things are so difficult their profits would be down too? All the luxury/non necessity markets are going to suffer big time, until there is only a few left. It's supply and demand like its always been.

So true. Inflation can only exist when the middle class has disposable income. When we do the corporations see it and make it theirs. Tires are double what they were before the pandemic.
