Hey, for a 38 year old P2 in the MotoGP championship ain't bad.
Mark will always love to stir the pot for the Rossi fanclub but at the end of the day, the old man can still put the rubber down.
That said, 2017 is his last possible chance at a 10th world title. Jlo will not be a factor but Mav and Marc will be, and Rossi will need to start WINNING RACES instead of relying on podium consistency or else it's time for Piña Colada's and a VideoPass.

The old man is quick! No doubt. I think Lorenzo will surprise a few people on the Ducati next year.

I can't see Lorenzo riding the Ducati the way it needs to be ridden to win. He would have to adopt a Stoner/Marquez (you can't do that on a motorcycle) style, not his 250 GP with way more power riding style.
That's my bet. Both are walking into 2 year contracts. I think a seat swap for 2019 is totally within the realm of possibilities.
Marc going to Ducati in 2019 seems written in stone for me already, but who knows. I'm less confident about what Jlo does if he can't win on the Duc. I think a move back to Yamaha is not out of the question for him either.
Keep in mind that over 2 years, Suzuki or even KTM could become competitive and add a lot of complexity to silly season. This is the new golden age of MotoGP, enjoy it!!!

Completely disagree on the Lorenzo being not able to ride Ducati properly. If we look at Ianone riding style is very similar to Jlo high corner speed he is not as smooth that's the only difference, breaking style and corner exit are very similar. Dovi on the other hand more of a Stoner pick me up and drive me style. I think the only issue Lorenzo will have is himself - the guy needs everything to be at 100% to his liking and then he is unbeatable but achieving that with a new bike is not easy. However when he just joined MotoGP he took pole in first race so he can adapt. Another positive factor is that he will be BIG number 1 in Ducati so that will play to his ego and confidence so i think unless Ducati fuxxcks up the bike over winter or Yamaha and Honda make a big step Lorenzo will be a contender. Oh yes and about remarks that Rossi sucks or crying about the championship i think those people should shut up. Guys we are talking about the person that overcame age and very strong competitors to be on the top and he is the number 1 reason 60% of people even know about moto gp. Just respect the doctor and what he has achieved and keeps doing still. Its very east to criticize while watching from the couch. It takes tremendous effort to race even at club level and to be competitive in motogp for decades that is beyond human possibilities and also it is an emotional strain. I agree he played last year end wrong way and perhaps was not aggressive enough in a few races but still these negative remarks are uncalled for.
Has Dani's contract been renewed ? If not, Cal to HRC given his recent run of form now that he has time to learn the tyres and electronics?
Still don't understand how Dani manages to keep one of the best rides in the paddock without delivering..?

a few things here. dani contract was renewed for 2 years. problem with cal is he is sponsored by monster energy the factory is red bull. that was why honda took nicky and not cal.
it is highly highly doubtfull marc to ducati. they put feelers out for him and nothing was going to happen. the reason is marc wants his entire team with him. he is with those guys 24/7. eats with them everyday he didnt even get a motor home till this year.
lets be honest the biggest threat to the yamaha garage next year will be mavrick. not the hondas not the ducatis but top gun. if he starts winning on a very cheap contract it will not be pretty. you will see the "mind games" for sure. problem is nobody really knows how topgun will react hes pretty quiet.
should be interesting. hey is rossi going to attend the cermony this year or will he boycot cause he lost agin.
PS rossi had a 1 in 3 chance to win this year so he came in second out of 3 . yes jlo came in 3 out of 3 however he has won 50% of the titles since 2010

respect a guy that has had everything handed to him since he got to gp and cry when things dont go your way i dont think so. please disprove the tire allegations, sabotaging stoner to yamaha, threatening to quit, the introduction of spec tires, the made up notion of marquez helping lorenzo, and the thought that he deserves 10 just because he is rossi. also the honda in the early years was so dominant that anybody on it would have won.

Interesting...Rossi won the title the first year he was on the Yamaha and rode for Honda for 4yrs but two of them were on the 500 two stroke and claimed 3 titles in a row for Honda and then won 2 more. No matter who it is, 5 consecutive titles is pretty damn impressive...

This garbage confirms you are either mentally deficient or a terrible troll. Lorenzo was handed a factory Yamaha for his first GP bike. Honda changed the rules so they could hand Marquez a Repsol Honda for his first year in GP, coming off a Repsol Honda in Moto 2. In case you haven't noticed the best get offered the best .....
