Will the development of the 1199 benefit under Audi ownership?

Very smart move on Audi's part to acquire Ducati. They get access to a complementary set of technology resources along with a premier brand. In return Ducati gets the financial commitment to explore options that they deem in their interest. Net Net .. everyone is a winner with this deal.

+1 couldn"t have put it better. Two great firms become one. I watch with interest:)

Well, to add, the rumor is is that Audi did this due to the never-ending competition with BMW (maybe some German brothers/ sisters can speak to this) for the cat-bird seat. So there would be additional incentive to push the tech, performance and reliability a bit further. Again, win-win for us.

Audi has done a lot for Lamborghini and it's appreciated. I would like to see some Lamborghini in Ducati. It wouldn't matter, my son would still sleep through the experience :)

Just hope we are going down the same route as Porsche
Boxster '96
Cayenne '02
Panamera '09

But look at Ducati
Multistrada '03
Hypomotard '05
Street Fighter '08
Diavel '10 - WHAT! Ducati makes a cruiser?

lol i think diavel is a nice bike
its like a old mans bike or sumfin (no offence just a expression)

easy to ride and looks simple

also keyless lol which i hope they implement in other future bikes

Hey, they've already decided to start assembling some bikes in Brazil. Make of that what you will.

I was driving the Lamborghini Gallardo BiColore Limited Edition today. Nice car. Brakes are amazing.

I would LOVE the VW group to take over Ducati's customer service and relationship management.
As it is now, I hate being treated as if I am not worthy of Ducati's attention. It's as if customers are privileged to have bought the bike and we should shut up and just wait to find out:
- when you will get the bike you ordered six months ago; or, if you have the bike,
- when you can get a friggin shop manual!
