So I goofed and didn't click the key quite over and was in a hurry Friday night and this morning the bike was dead of course. Stupid question but can I trickle charge the battery overnight with my Chevelle's 12vdc charger or do I need a special moto charger? TIA :D

Also, think my TuneBoy programming will need to be redone?

I did the same, except only for like six hours. Was "clicking" when I came out.

Tried to trickle charge the battery"¦.no go"¦Battery was fried, smelled battery gasses when it was trying to charge it. Bought a new one.

Trickle charge with a car 12vdc charger??

A singer from Minnesota. She's not very good at charging batteries though.

Thanks guys. Left my "Battery Tender" branded trickle charger which is a 750mA all night and buke was still dead this morning haha. Think that may take a couple of days. So I connected my big 2/12/75amp charger/jump starter. Left it in the 2A position of course and hope she'll start up tonight. If not, I'll get the other battery upgrade.

Regardless what battery you get (if you get a new one) try NOT to drain it all the way down lol They don't like that. BUT if you are getting a new one, I would push for a Shorai or an EarthX. Good batteries. I know with Shorai you wont be able to use the battery tender jr that most bikes use, isnt made for that batter, i guess it might work in a pinch

Ok guys n gals, so battery charged up all day. Bike started fine. TuneBoy tune sounded normal. Quick up/down shifter all worked fine going around the block.

The only issue is my main odometer is blinking dashes?!?! As in "---------". My trip 1 and 2 work fine. All my pre-dead battery "Sport" settings are there. As in in being in 195Hi and Abs and Ebc and such.

Is there a quick fix for the blinking dashes that won't go away when I start and restart the bike and won't go away with moving the bike.

TIA

Well after some googling, guess this is a known issue when the dash gets out of sync with the ecu. Guess I'll have to figure out how to resync the damn things. Ugh.

Hated to do it, but called SouthBay MotoSports in Chula, service guy said they can plug into it and resync it easily. Wish Emma from TB would email me back haha :(

My first experience with Lithium batteries was EarthX. Failed a day after installation, completely cooked. Went back to the manufacturer for a quick replacement but I don't trust them anymore. It's been sitting on a trickle charger for a year.

You can buy the Shorai battery tender with... I have one.

Well just to end this story, a $45 charge later to "reset/resync dash" and my ODO is just fine with all 7100mi back on her. I asked why it wasn't a warranty issue since the dash shouldn't lose sync after a battery does and service guy said it was my fault for leaving key on. So much for being honest. I shoulda just said the bike was dead after a few weeks of no usage, then what would they have denied me for?!?!

I love Ducati's idea of customer service (sarcasm). I basically consider my bike w/o warranty at this point haha.
