I've never had an issue with the stock. I do get the weight savings part but Its not like you can notice the difference. I believe that the stock is better and you can always hook up a bike alarm with no regrets. I don't trickle charge the bike during winter. Each and every bike I've had always starts right up once they are out of storage.
