Bypass and delete are two very different words.
Febur is an Italian company man...

That’s what they call the t stat delete

What ya gonna do?

Bypass it and leave that funky plastic T on the bike?

Maybe in English they are ‘very different words’ but in this thread they are both referring to doing the same exact thing

Wrong again Don and wrong bike. It's pretty clear Don your way out of your league talking about or messing with these bikes.
Lol. Smoked. So smoked. Read the thread Mick. I was answering @Araitim

He has narrow head motor

Yeah Don its pretty clear to everyone you have just been trolling here from the get go absolutely up to nothing good here on the board. Nothing valuable, no bike, fake ads, bunch useless pictures of nonsense its pretty embarrassing to the community here.

I'm fairly certain t-stat bypass systems keep it in place. They allow coolant to flow around it (bypass) before it reaches opening up temp to get coolant flowing earlier. A thermostat delete would just be straight through piping that allows for complete removal of the thermostat, so it would likely have to come with some kind of electrical connector block off.

Isn't Samco UK based? I could be wrong. If they are, I'm fairly certain they understand the difference between bypass and delete, yet if I recall correctly, they use the word bypass as well on their kits.

First, again the “SEARCH” function proves to cumbersome for some individuals. This subject has been covered to death many times. The name of the part in question is arbitrary, call it whatever you want. It’s a couple of aluminum tubes welded to create a hose junction. There is no thermostat in it. It has a simple port for the temp sensor other than that there are zero electrical connectors associated with that piece. Febur,MAC, Galleto etc all use the same thing. I have been using some version of it since 2015 as have many others.

The bike comes stock with a thermostat bypass. It’s the small hose that runs from the heat exchanger to the filler neck of the radiator Maverick. And there is no thermostat sensor. There is a temperature sensor and that needs to be there

I was referring to the Febur part (Italian not UK) that Ed is running. It deletes the thermostat

The reason I started the thread was to get feedback from guys like Ed that are actually running it. Not static from guys like you n Mick that are not

@endodoc what water pump do you use now that the thermostat is history?

Hey Don why are you even on this board? You obviously don't know what the .... is up or down so get your facts straight about these bikes or go away. Pretty clear with everything you have said nothing makes sense. You have not ridden one of these bikes let alone looked at one close enough to know whats there. Ed and I are running the same radiator setup and not Febur or MAC.

I am using an RS water pump with the reduced impeller profile. Although I do have a few sets of the steel RS gears, I am not using them in a street application. For the same reason composite propellers are extending the lifespan of snout bearing assembly’s and constant speed prop governors, a heavier gear hanging off the pump is going to have an effect on water pump bearing life. Track bike, race bike, fine as those guys change out water pumps regularly but I personally do not feel it’s a good idea for a street bike in this application. I have over 24k miles on this plastic pump gear set and it looks brand new. If you have an issue with plastic gears and it’s not related to a Mfg defect then you need to be looking at how you’re maintaining that motor.

Thats the right side of the bike Don do you actually know the difference from the right and left? That red hose Ed is using is connected to one of my oil chiller block off kits (available from me only) so it connects to the upper radiator flow nipple on top the radiator.

Why are you still running that bypass (the red hose in yer pic) if you deleted the thermostat?

I know where it connects

And I know why the factory put one there

Do you?

It’s a thermostat bypass. Obviously not needed anymore when the thermostat has been deleted (and he just stated that it has)

Smoked

And anyone running that “chiller block off plate” is putting their engine in jeopardy. It’s way too thin to have large enough passages to feed the rod and main bearings

No thanks!

*from here on out say what you will. That will be the last response you hear from me. You are angry and slanderous and I’m done responding to you. Maybe I’ll throw ya a GFY here n there but you on iggy for the most part. You might be good at working with fiberglass but you are clueless about anything mechanical

Yeah Don pretty clear your the expert here on the board. Never touched one these bikes. Guessing your unemployed, few hot parts or hot bike laying around and tons of time to talk about it all here pretty much sums it all up.

I can understand believing you are correct and whatnot, but c'mon dude, please grow up a little. The whole "smoked" thing is like laughing at your own joke. You're literally acting like your own hype man; I'm not sure what kind of vibe you're trying to give off but I can assure you it isn't nearly as cool as you're hoping it is. Added on top of the "I'm right and you're wrong and I win because I get the last word," approach and you're really "smoking" yourself.

I get it dude. Being right feels good so you're hunting for any and every opportunity to chase that high. I get that you've probably got way too much time on your hands because of COVID. But it might be time to take a little break for the sake of self reflection. What do you really gain from derailing every thread into a .... flinging contest? What would you lose if you replied, "Oh okay, I guess I was wrong and learned something?" You're treating every interaction on this forum like some kind of engagement you absolutely must win. Nobody cares, my man. If you admitted to being wrong, Mick wouldn't jump out of his chair and proclaim victory. He doesn't give a ...., nobody does. You're way too concerned about your pride here, it's an online forum. You don't lose anything by just not responding. You don't gain anything from responding. It's okay to let things go.

Yep going to have to agree here Don. You have no idea how the oil flow bypass in the back of that plate is machined. It has been tested extensively. I was attempting to give you the benefit of the doubt by trying to answer your questions in a civilized manner but your behavior, verbiage and general lack of humility in areas that you obviously failed to research before posting is a bit annoying.
