Air/Fuel Controller and Brake Line Question

What aftermarket air/fuel (i.e. Power Commander/Bazzaz) controllers are you using? Also, what Brake Lines are you using? I will be home again in August and am looking at goodies for the s. I only got to ride it about 100 miles before I had to head back to the sandbox, but I noticed it was very...

Bleeding rear brake on ABS system

I have a spongy rear brake, despite spending some time trying to bleed the system both by pumping with the pedal and by using a vacuum bleeder at the caliper nipple. There are some threads that suggest removing the rear caliper and holding it above the rear master cylinder or using the old...

    Brake fluid Dark???

I was stopped by another Ducatist. He said my brake and clutch fluids were too dark and should be "yellowish" color. I looked at his and they were in fact a "yellowis" color. I think he had an 03 or 04 998s. Is everyone else's brake and clutch fluids very dark.

    Problem bleeding rear brake.

I bled my fronts and clutch, but can't get the rear pedal to firm up. Have bled it 6-7 times with a mighty vac as well as the old fashion way with my daughter stepping on the brake pedal.Even went as far as to disconnect the slave and reservoir to elevate to above the caliper and no luck. Any...

Tricolore + Lightech rear sets = Brake Light?

I installed the rear set and everything is great but I cant figure out how to get the brake light wire and plug setup. I called their tech support and they said the dealer had to do it because of the ABS? Is there anyone that installed these and did it themselves that could explain how and where...

    Brake master RUB

I received my Australian recall letter 863/12 by registered post this morning. One of the contained issues was the brake master bolt rub issue which is pretty old news in my book and my tri was delivered with the fix (plastic dome nut) in place back in October. However I just happened to misread...

    Black brake fluid

Is anyone replacing their brake fluid when it turns black? I have seen heaps of photos posted by forum members that have black rear brake reservoirs as well. Now my front reservoir fluid has turned black. Very unusual for that much discolouration in 5000 kms! Will replace with Motul RBC 600.

    Brake light sensor

    need expert advise: brake fluid

Hello everybody, I had the bad/wonderful idea to install the Rizoma oil reservoirs on my bike. The technician realised that the hose supplied by Rizoma was too large to fit and being at a yamaha dealer he tried to fit one from an R1. When I got home I noticed a small leakage from the bottom...

I'm going to flush the brake & clutch fluid through this winter and replace with Motul 660. Does the 1199 have a standard bleeding process or is there any special trick or process linked to the ABS.

    Brake lights flickering on constantly

On the ride down to the Philip Island over the weekend, the guy I was riding down with commented that my brake lights were constantly flickering on. We swapped bikes so I could see, and sure enough, the brakes lights were on more than they were off. Has anyone else experienced this?
