2023 Panigale V4R with 600 miles in as a trade.
It has the high split Termi exhaust.
That one is going to be $39,998

or new 2024 V4R with zero miles. - $45k

Is there any major differences between these two years? I never ran a termi exhaust, but I like the idea that I get the bike with it for less and I am past the first oil change and can put a deussen tune on it.

Please offer suggestions or insights, this is my first V4R.

There is no difference between the two model years.

I guess it really comes down to your budget and if you are happy with the exhaust, which I think is probably a very good option, and the tune you mentioned seems to be well respected.

Either way, you will love the bike – it’s really awesome and I hope you are planning to take it on track.

Thanks Spooky, I appreciate that. I am chomping at the bit to start tracking this bike.

There are a couple used V4R's around me 2023-2024 I am definitely looking to pick one up.. I think I can save around $5k and pick up a race exhaust if I go with newly used bike.. which seems to make the most sense. Brand new is $45k and I'd have to pay another $7-10k roughly to get an exhaust thrown on.
I guess I'll see who is most interested in making a deal, as I am trading in my current bike with the purchase.
All low miles, well kept..I don't think I can really go wrong.

I agree. If it’s low mileage and it’s had its first service then it’s an attractive proposition. Doing those first 600 miles is painful…

I bought a new one because I was offered a €5,000 discount. I was also able to get back 80% of the sales tax, which helped. Some lucky people in the UK have been able to take advantage of getting the full Akrapovic exhaust for £1,500…

What bikes have you had before this? You are really going to love this on track.

Just my SFV4 SP2 - love everything about the bike, just want fairings and more track time.

Spec's are the same? If the warranties the same take the used one and use the rest of the money to buy a new suit (or hookers and blow).

I will definitely level out the warranties, I would like at least a year to ring it out and see if Ducati is responsible for any defects.

Nice. I probably should have guessed from your username…

I have the Panigale SP2.

I was going to get that bike... I honestly like it better and think it comes with all the right stuff. But I do intend on tracking the bike and would love to race.

You’d be hard pressed to get warranty work on the engine on a bike w Termis and tune. Ducati isn’t known for their charity or customer service. Would get the new one and keep it stock for the 2 years to maximize the warranty

I'm in the states, I don't think they push back that hard. Unless they can prove the exhaust/mapping caused the issue.

I can’t say I’ve ever even heard of a warranty claim being denied because of a tune.

The 2023 seems like the better deal. You won’t have to put with dealership setup fees either on a used bike. Considering it only has 600 miles, someone likely bought it not knowing what they were getting into.

Close, divorce.

Looks like I’m getting the 2024, I don’t want to wait for the dude to show up with it. He might just hop on it and start riding to Cali.

Or they bought it as a road bike and after 600 miles of going to Starbucks and back thought sod that.

If you've not raced before or have not had a lot of track time these are the wrong bikes to learn to go fast on. Way too fast. And you toss it away and they're real expensive to fix. Buy a gixxer 750 or a 1098s instead.

I’ve had a bike denied warranty work bc of aftermarket exhaust and tune. That’s why I’m gun shy and keep it stock as much as possible

On the Euro 5 stuff the dealers are pushing back on owner servicing of any kind. I wonder if relative to the Euro 6 stuff it's no touch. We'll see shortly. Parts are so absurdly high for these bikes. If you blow up a motor you're only course is to find a used one if you're out of warranty.

My favourite bike way back when was the RGV250. I was younger, lighter and far more stupid though. Handling was incredible and chasing that tiny power band was awesome fun. My last bike before my break from riding was the FZR600R - again, great fun and you could wring its neck without travelling through time in the process.

No doubt you are right about a smaller capacity bike being better to learn on, but I wouldn’t swap my R for anything (ok, maybe a Kramer).

I wasted money on starter bikes before and have rung out all my V4’s. This isn’t my first time riding a bike and taking a turn. Appreciate the concern though. Even good riders dump their bikes pushing it… that’s not necessarily a learning curve thing. Unless you ride in the recreational group forever

On another note… can I use my deussen tuner on the new bike ? Has anyone ran Daniel’s device on numerous bikes, or is it locked to one.. I remember reading about this for one of my devices but I can’t find anything on it tonight.
