Probably a beaten down thread, but wondering if anyone moved from a base 1199 to a base V4 ?

I found a good deal on a new 2019 V4 and was trying to figure out from actual owners if its worth the jump.

I went from a 1199 base to a Streetfigher V4 to a 2021 Panigale V4S.

Honestly, looking at your sig line you have a well equipped 1199. I don't think a stock V4 has all that much to offer. If it were a 2020 or 2021 S, maybe. Where we are in the V4 lineup is very 1199 to 1299 if that makes sense, with the V4 being 2018-2019 and 2020+. With the 2020+ V4 you are getting the wider race fairings of the R and with the 2021+ the Superlegerra clutch and brake masters etc.

I didn't realize there is that much of a change between the 2019 and the 2020 model other than the fairings. Is the 2020 more docile compared to the 2019 ?

The 2018-2019 V4s are violent machines and exhausting to work around a track. However, that's exactly what made me fall in love with my 2018. Wouldn't even think about trading it for a new one. The new style fairings fit older models with a small simple adapter for the side ones.

I couldn't compare without riding them back to back. But, docile is not the word I'd use to describe any of these bikes.

You almost have to go back and read old reviews of the 2019 to see what changed over the 2018, and from the 1299 to the 2018 V4.

Like I would want to help someone with SERIAL RAPIST listed as their occupation

Not…

Only way I might be ok with that is if you were punk’d in the joint and now yer trying to laugh it off?

I have a base 1299 with to many performance and cosmetic mods to list. So that bike is staying put. I do like the V4, Street Fighter V4 and the new Aprilia Tuono 1100 Factory that just came out. Im going to try and sell my 2015 BMW S1000R and use that money towards one of these bikes as well as towards parts.

V4 is awesome, so much more power. Although I'm still faster on my 1199 at the track than the V4 since I'm not scared to crash my 1199... LOL
