I've been thinking about some of the things that have been said about the SL, like it might not win a shoot out with the HP 4 and others, and I think this is way off the mark. The 1199R already beat the HP4 in multiple shoot outs and that included track performance, and the Superleggere surely must be well beyond the 1199R. Hence it will be dominant in any shoot out.
Ok I'll bite. I think first, you have to establish whether or not magazine shootouts are meaningful to you for buying decisions or whether they make you feel better or worse about the decision you already made. To me, it's cool to watch the vids of the bikes in action before we get the chance to ride them but other than that they're meaningless.

-- i'd agree with that completely - i'd take the approach of "buy it, own it, ride it, write your own article"....

I agree with your point here.. I kinda take them with a pinch of salt but its ultimately what you feel comfortable riding and what pleases u more..
