Instead of an SL, I think I'll wait a couple years and just buy one of the 1199s raced in WSBK, put a plate and some stock bodywork back on and use it as a weekend bike. ;)

That sl is damn close to that bike .. :) i hope for the owners that the homol bike is still another one .. So it remains 500 bikes

Mine was shipped from Italy to USA last week. Expected deivery is first week in May. Then it gets turned into a racebike!

Congrats!

I've got to ask, aren't you a bit concerned about spares if you're racing an SL? Or are you already going with alternate pieces like the Motoholder subframe, rearsets, etc.?

Jeff I agree its probably a stupid idea but what the hell! I didnt buy it to look at it. It's basically a useless street bike so why not ride it and go 96% instead of 110%! Mine wont have any stock parts on it by the time it hits the track so I am not too worrried.

Finally!! After endless months of waiting, I received an e-mail today from Ducati:
My SL will be shipped within the next 10 days, hurra!
No info about which number I get.

Ahhhh...
Sorry to bother you guys. But I am sooooo happy! I need to share my feelings with somebody :)

Today Ducati told me that the/my SL has been loaded into the truck in Italy. So the next barrier to take will be the f**king swiss customs.

Hard to tell, but I hope it arrives this week. Technical approval by the government and getting an bearable insurance will take some additional time. Can't sleep anymore.

"I'm so exicted..."

It is worth the wait and a simply fantastic machine that is far beyond my expectations. I had my first service this weekend and opened it up a bit on the ride home... wow...
