NICE! I just got my VIN this afternoon, so hoping for ASAP as well.

On, no.. Quite to the contrary.. You guys will be SICK of hearing from me by the time I'm done.. :D

I will take a ton of pictures and also do a full write up, comparing and contrasting the 1299 to my BMW S1000RR. All I can hope, is that the weather is less gloomy and foggy than it has been the last few days.

Cheers.

I for one won't be sick of it! It seems like so many members take delivery of a new bike then mysteriously disappear. I would send Scully and Mulder in but I already know where they are...with Mulder's sister doing wheelies! :p

Mine will be here friday, picking it up saturday!
Nice!!!! Yours must be on the same truck as mine then, it's just stopping in the North Bay first... :D

Congratulations and can't wait to meet up for a ride. I'll make sure my friends come along, with their 2015 BMW S1000RR and new 2015 Yamaha R1... I also have a buddy who just got his Kawasaki H2, so we'll have most of the new class of '15 represented.

Cheers.

Looking forward on your feedback, 1299 vs s1000rr,

This thing burns Gas like my truck , got stranded today on a highway thank god it was close to gas station, you got 5 mls at most, after reserve low fuel light comes up, its not like s1000rr 20mls on reserve , so watch out

Just bugged my guy again (about possibly working a deal on a 1299S ;) ) and was told still no shipping notification, but the NE rep has said "beginning of May" for my R.

Therefore, I'm quite a happy man today!
My full akra showed up today as well!

I will copy and paste exactly what I was told about the USA R
"Includes mirror plugs
- Includes High windscreen
- In 2015, the R model does NOT include a FULL RACE exhaust system from the factory. It includes the race header (already installed) and the Akro homologated slip-on (already installed)"

So in other words for 2015:

Ducati doesnt include carbon clutch cover
carbon swingarm cover
separate exhaust

yet the price went up 10%.

This bike better wheelie in 6th gear!

My S arrived at Rockwell's last Saturday but it had a ding in the front wheel and a rip in the hand grip on the same side. That's being replaced this week, and they're installing a Ducati sports accessory package as well, which includes a fender eliminator and some carbon fiber bits and pieces. I'm picking her up tomorrow and I (obviously) can hardly breathe from excitement. Hopefully beer will calm me down.

I had a base 1199 in 2013 that I absolutely loved, but it got smoked by a truck (with me on it). When I recovered from that I bought a 2014 Multistrada Pikes Peak -- amazeballs! Thing makes you honestly feel like Greg Tracy -- and then a new HP4, which I absolutely despised. Ergos didn't fit me and the power delivery terrified me, Huge Mistake ``I've Made a Huge Mistake'' -- the BMW HP4

So I hope and pray the 1299S is like my base Pani only better. Only things I'm worried about are the Ohlins forks -- can that electronic crap be as solid as my old, fat Marzocchis? -- and the increased rake. I don't ever want to feel the same kind of instability I, for some weird reason, felt on the Beemer (really weird because my first superbike was a 2012 s1000 and it was no problem for me, street or track, but who knows).

Having only put 65 miles on my 1299S, I would say it's notably more balanced than my old S1000RR. The suspension is genuinely phenomenal, and the quickshifter is infinitely better than the one on my old Beemer.

Stopped by my dealer today and during my visit the shipping truck arrived. Luckily my bike was on that shipment; should be on it very very soon

Latest info from my dealer on Australian delivery is that the first batch of Ss are due (Sydney and Melbourne at least) later this week or early next. I don't have a lot of confidence after they've strung me along for a while now, but, hey, I'm working on the theory that if they keep giving me a date then they've bound to be right eventually, so fingers crossed. ;)
