First question that popped into my head when I saw the lineup. I know one of these will end up on my late xmas list, but if you're a road and track rider which one would you choose? Aaand go:
Kind-of what I'm wondering too...track only for me-
Did the mid-range get addressed on the new R?
Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing yet....
The 1399?
Pricing is already out:
1299 - $19,295 MSRP
1299S - $24,995 MSRP
Panigale R - $33,995 MSRP
1299 and 1299 S in RED only to start with.
The electronic suspension seems to be something that track riders will love. It's not unpredictable, reacting to road conditions, like the skyhook or HP4. It's event based, it will go to a known specific setting at corner entry, mid-corner, exit and hard braking. Best of both worlds. Can't wait to see it in real tests!
Worse thing is they kept the Marzocchi scaffold poles, I think the new 1199r is the way to go rather than a bigger engine, I like the way BMW have developed the s1000rr, because they got it right in the first place and was able to improve and keep the momentum going of that bike, except the looks of course. I won't buy the 1299 (never say never), I would buy the new 1199 r
Ducati got the 1199 wrong power/torque wise in the mid-range. They claim the new 1299 fixes those issue, we will have to wait and see
The graph the put up last night is near enough a mirror of the 1199 just a higher point through out I don't have a power issue with mine, its seems to go when I twist the throttle, least thats what the Police guy said when he was taking my money!
To quote myself:
before and after(exhaust and tune), on the 1199. there is seriously issue with the mid-range torque. yes the power may still be good but the bike lacks the mid-range torque. i didn't think there was anything wrong with the standard 1199 till i had this done
No to divert from the point of the thread but are you happy with it now? What exhaust system did you use, relevant cause I'm in the market for that!
