14' Ducati 1199 R trailer porn /w Pitbull Restraints :-)

Finally got around to fitting my 14' Ducati 1199 R into my race trailer next to my track bikes. I have been using the Pitbull trailer restraints for about a year now and they are awesome, a little pricey but I highly recommend them!

Have this system for a few years similar love it bike doesn't move, but if I had to do it now I would get the pit bull.

Looks good, I've had a similar setup for the last 3 years...zero issues.
 
does the front have to be secured?

as phl posted nope...
the genius of the TRS is that it uses the bikes own suspension and weight to hold it down.. with the trs the bike cannot move forward or back so strapping or compressing the suspension isn't needed. even on heavy bumps the rear arms that attach to the rear axle cannot rotate over as the handlebar only rotates a few degrees...

Can this be used in open trailer, or does that require additional securing?
 
Totally fine in an open trailer also, before getting my enclosed trailer i was using them in the same configuration in an open trailer.

Open trailer, van, enclosed trailer. Doesn't really matter. I saw one brave soul who had attached them to a steel panel that wasn't actually hooked in to anything so he could take it in and out of the bed of his truck.
 
I have mine in the bed of my truck with a sharkkage ramp system. I had them in my trailer before that.

One question, How come you don't track the 1199 R?

If ever there was a bike that came ready for the track it is the 1199R!

Oh I will be, I just haven't had the time yet. I agree 100% :)

The SV is what i've been concentrating as of late, helps you become a better rider on the track for sure.
 
Question.

I am about to order these and I see the bolt length for floor option for 2" (for 3/4" floors) and 3" (for 1-3/4" floors).

I will be putting these on a Benz Sprinter Crew Cargo Van. What do you think I will need?
 
That really depends where you're going to put the plates and if the floor is flat or like most aluminum bodies ridged, I would prob go for the longer ones and cut off the excess and clean up the threads if they are to long.

One example where long ones won't work are open trailers where the ramp is stored underneith and slides in, it would hit the long bolts, there should be plenty of clearance under the sprinter though. Just make sure when suspension compresses the bolts won't contact anything.

I did talk to the pitbull folks and they said typical people go for 2" for trailers. I guess she was talking about the enclosed trailers. Example photos of Sprinter Crew below.
