Just broke the 15000 mark-
She's in for the very expensive service-
Beside having to replace a fork seal after week one-
No real issues so far other than the standard updates and recalls-

I Do wonder how many miles most of the bikes on here are covering and how they're holding up?!?

2012 Base, 7K in 11 months and only had a replaced dash due to sun damage. Wish they had issued a TSB about this because I would have started covering the dash with a towel when parked outside earlier.

Had wiring harness replaced to rectify turn signal issue, all work under warranty. Upgraded suspension before 3,000 miles, but didn't experience the seemingly common issue of Marzocchi cartridges failing.

Please keep us updated on whether your bike required any valve adjustment and, if possible, how much the service cost you.

Unless your bike lives at the track or at redline, I think quite a few are going to payout for this service to have tolerances well within spec. Until I see a bike that has never been to the track need to be reshimmed, my motor will be staying just as it is regardless of miles.

I spent some time getting quotes from the various ducati shops around LA as well as some info from ducati:
factory rec is for 14 hours (+-) a half or so...
I suppose if you've got a good connection or can negotiate a deal then you can save a bit.. but at the end of the day ((you play=you pay))- they're special machines so there's no getting around paying a premium really...

Still waiting to hear back on what sort of condition the valves and such were in. I don't expect that anything was in rough shape but the piece of mind is nice and if I wanna sell her anytime soon the next buyer will want to know it's had proper service and care.

I was told ~$2,000 by my dealer for my 899. At least I know in advance, only have 1,300 miles so far haha!

I think tires between now and then are going to cost me more

OK SO she's home where she belongs now=
New brake pads front and rear, New slave cylinder,New front tire, and apparently one of the valves was in need of adjustment// surprising given that I don't really cane the thing____errrr_
Toooo much____errrrr_!!!
Everything else was pretty standard along with the 14 hour bill: plugs, filters, fluids etc...
Hurts but had to be done:0/
Now if it would just stop raining I'd love to go for a ride!

Thanks for the update. I believe this is the first 15k report where the valves actually required adjustment.

Dam my 2013 already has 2,000 miles in 5 months.Had it been warmer more often it would probably have double that.

I've taken apart my 848 evo completely before, maybe I can take the dealership my 1199 engine. That should put the labor at only a couple hours. :p

I just had the 7,500, costing $425 all in (oil, filter, taxes).
My mechanic looked up the estimated hours for the 15,000 mile service (14 hours) and quoted me $1,200 labour plus parts.

Not bad. Thanks for the update.

Bump. Anybody here recently get there 15k service? I just broke 13k and was curious to know of anybody else is needing their valves adjusted. My bike has never seen the track and I rarely see redline. With that being said you think the invoice will be cheaper?

I had my 15k mi service done back in January this year. All valve clearances within spec.

They don't have to completely disassemble to check valve clearances - only if any need to be adjusted.

Mechanic told me that they're finding very few motors out of spec at 15k miles.

My 15k mi service came to $1,275 (including parts). Was told that if they had to completely disassemble (to adjust a valve) it would have been closer to $1800.

My 24 000 km service cost me less than $320 in total. The service was done by Ultimate Performance in Centurion, South Africa. It is one of the unilaterally disenfranchised Ducati franchise holders in the nasty porsche South Africa take over in which owners and other franchise holders were screwed side ways.

I can get a annual on all 3 of my airplanes cheaper than the $15,000 mile service on a Ducati.... Something does not add up here!
Just sell the bike and get a new one every $15,000 miles, may be better off.

Had my 24000km (15,000 mile) service done before my long trip south, it cost me $2000 Cdn, 13hrs labor at $120/hr (cdn), all the valves were way out of spec, I thought they might have been, as the bike started to occasionally backfire on de-acceleration, after the service this was cured. Mine is a 2012 base model, it now has 30,000 kms (18,600 miles) on it. I've had no real issues with the bike other than it smoked like hell on startup for the first 5,000kms, and the usual recall work.
I saw my bike during the service and it was fairly heavily stripped own, subframe off, the whole cooling system (rads/hoses etc to get to the front head) mufflers, fuel tank, airbox, injectors, sump. You have to remember its not just a valve job, other stuff gets done as well like new plugs, coolant change, oil/filter, etc....Still it hurts the old pocket book, I used to get my valves done for $350 on my ZX10R.....

Just had mine done recently; $1380 in labor plus parts - total was in the $1900's including tax, with no valve adjustment required. Not a cheap service, but I wasn't expecting it to be, so no surprise. My bigger concern was having some strange dude get his mitts on my bike. Like handing over my girlfriend to get fondled by a stranger. Having to suppress the urge to take it all apart again and recheck his work! Having been a mechanic, SM and GM in a past life, my trust level isn't what it could be... ;)

Blow was softened somewhat by the '15 S1KRR they gave me for a loaner while my bike was in the shop. Premium service comes in all varieties...

Damn phl you still haven't done it yet? I read this entire thread last night and you were one of the few that posted on here first. I thought you took your motor to Ducati 2 years ago LOL
