I picked up everything from your link
Ducati 4 pin DDA to 16 pin OBD2 Adaptor Cable Lead
ELM327 Interface
Has correct chip from their email response
Nice! you should be set then.
As soon as you get your stuff, install the software on your computer and then connect the cables to your bike and right before running the MelcoDiag, turn the ignition switch on (dont need to start the bike) then load the program.
If by any chance you cable is not being recognized you need to install the drivers (I have them or you can find the link on the jpdiag forum)
Once all that is done, it should recognize your bike (vin number should show up and a couple more things...) and that's when you click the "register" button and within a day or two you should be getting an email with a file that you need to save in the same folder where you have the melcodiag files saved. ---- That's when you can delete codes, reset service lights and all the fun stuff... without registration you can't do anything (you can see if you have errors but not delete them)
Have fun!
