Why so you can pretend you have an R

Agree with this

Nothing worse than taking a state of the art machine but ruining it with Poser stickers...

Custom decals are a different thing..but adding stickers and decals from a specific higher model is very cheesy and looked down upon by all enthusiasts

Ever come across a regular BMW car with fake M emblem? how ...... does that look..

just saying...

OMG, this happened here a couple years ago when a kid wanted to put Tricolore stickers on his Base - people went nuts both sides of argument

Yeah let him go the whole hog. I will sell him the 17SLR sticker kit with an Austin Racing exhaust. :D

This is not the same thing. I would understand this to be the case if someone also included the R in the decals but if not, then it's not the same. Mine for example just says 1199 panigale on the side fairings. Nothing about says R. Plus, a stupid decal kit doesn't differentiate between the models. Only a non enthusiast would assume it's an R. Anyone who knows about bikes would know it's just a visual enhancement, just like a bunch of my own mods.

Just because someone puts an amg or m body kit on their lower model cars doesn't mean it's poser like. The amg and m badge though, now that looks poser like. Like i said, if i wanted an R, it certainly isn't because of the decals. I woulda just got one. With all the mods on my bike, my base bike costs more than an R. I just enjoy customizing my cars n bikes much more than anything else.

This argument is pretty ridiculous. If i don't see any R badges, then it's far from poser like.

Ok just to clarify, looking for the 'Ducati Corse' stickers.

Now, is this ok with everyone?! Lol :D

What a poser!

You should not put Ducati Corse on your bike unless your bike is actually worked on or built on the track by the Ducati Corse team.

Shame on you ! Tsk Tsk Tsk

don't agree you make your car look like a M or AMG or whatever but don't have a sticker you are still tarting it up to be something it's not.

For me thats not being an individual.

but like poeple say it's your car/bike etc and you can do what you like.

Sometimes the factory look is hard to beat. For a few bucks more, "I can get MY bike to look like that". That's exciting for some and adds pride of ownership even though it may fool, annoy, or disgust others. Most won't care including me.

In prison, Arse tattooed female pubes on my tender ....... to give his pounding session a more realistic "experience"….
…What a romantic:eek:

The white number plates look cool and are a nice throwback to old school 916/ 998 ducs... fair game. Racey and brand oriented..
The Ducati Corse sticker on the side just says "Pani R" and if it's not legit the look kinda comes across as cheesy or wannabe.....

^^^^ each to their own - Ducati Corse had involvment in the engineering of the panigale generally as well as the 1299 itself including the engine componentry (specifically bore dimensions and crank design). Further still, if you have purchased a heap of Ducati Corse parts and installed them on your bike why can you not then have Ducati Corse on the bike?

The Pani R comes factory with an Akra system, using this analogy with the corse stickers a 1299S owner putting a full Akra system on his bike (and god forbid then fitting an Akra stickers somewhere) must mean its not legit and comes across cheesy or wannabe?

That's your opinion and biased one at that since you've done something similar yourself and will always defend it, why you have I don't understand since yours is blue and white and hardly looks like an R.
It's your bike, your money, do what you want but with the infinite possibilities people have when it comes to customising anything, customising a bike to make it look exactly the same as the higher specced model is lame and always will be.
People that paid the premium to get the higher specced model and it's look will always look down upon it and dislike it because they paid the premium, why should someone else deserve to have those unique styling cues they paid a premium for, which is fair enough.

My goal is to have a bike that's different. Different in a sense that NO ONE will have a bike that looks like mine. A decal kit is so basic. I like the look of the decals. I don't give a damn if it was from an S, R, SL, etc. NOTHING on my bike says anything about me wishing it was an R. If i wanted an R, i woulda got one. I'm only defending it because how much emphasis some of you put on a silly decal kit. I'm not pretending like it's an R. No R sticker anywhere. You and all the other R owners didn't pay a premium for some stupid decals. If you truly believe that, then you're sadly mistaken. Your premium went to better internals, suspension, exhaust, carbon bits, etc. All things i had to pay for on my base. I don't care who looks down at my bike n thinks I'm a poser. There are far more people who like the look of my bike (a lot might i add) than people who dislike it. Even then, no ones opinion of my bike matters but my own. I don't customize my bikes or cars to impress a single person besides myself. I simply show photos on here to show people on the forums something different than the same ol boring red bike u see everywhere.

@double0, your bike is customised just the way you like it, it's unique. I like it as well.

But to try and look like an "R", that's a bit lame, rather just make it unique, different.

sexy its not about someone deserving it, its about choice. Something that we have the ability to make. So what if the R comes with some stickers. Do Chaz and Guil get pissed cause the new 15' R says Panigale R just like they're race bikes.. No.. I mean hell do the SL guys get pissed when people put full CF bodywork on an 1199 that's not a SL. Doesn't everyone that buys a 1199 in some way or another aim for it to be just as awesome as an R model or an SL??

Easy cowboy and welcome to the forum

Just stating the obvious I have never been a fan of making something it's not, be it a car or bike etc

Not sure why that makes me a hater

I agree with you.

Sorta like the people that buy a Chevy Avalanche, then put Escalade badges all over it.

Guys, only people that know what the R or S means, will know if it's really an S or R - so a "poser" is just doing because he likes the "look", or maybe he can't afford the other and wants to pretend. Only my fellow Ducati bubbies know what a Panigale even is, and just a handful know or care if there is an S or R after the 1199/1299, and what that even means.
