I'm not quite sure why some are down on the R or Tri either tbh. To me the Tri is a limited edition S with some upgrades/options made standard and a limited production paint scheme to commemorate the release of the new series. The R is the "Homologation Special" focused on WSBK eeking out whatever gains they can at a production level. If you were to have a standard S or an R painted in the Tri scheme, add DDA+, etc it still ain't a Tri and, vice-versa, if you were to make mods to get the Tri to 200hp it still ain't an R - they're distinct models.
To me it's not a comparison between the two, I just look at them as 2 bikes with specific purposes and just...different.
LMAO haha. They would have saved more weight too, with the cut out. Nah,does nothing for me. This is starting to get like fashion now. What do you do? get a new bike every season? lol. What's interesting is they opted not to keep the oil window hole. lol

Nah, I've got mine set up how I want it now, not looking to start over with another bike already. I've had 4 track bikes in the past 2 years, time to stick wtih one for a whole season again I think!

I"d like to see how they have done the adjustable swingarm pivot feature. Must be built into the swingarm itself as the pivot pins screw into lugs on back of crankcase. Like on a framed bike they put in pivot plates with the hole off set,to change the angle. Will have me magnifying glass out at the NEC for sure.Agree, its a model upgrade as everyone does every year. Be interesting to see what it will cost in Australia.
The tri is not my cup of tea as I prefer the basic red scheme. We buy what we want and not what looks good on the forum signature. If I had to replace my S and could afford it, I would buy this R. Looks great. Be interesting to compare the two on a track making adjustments to the swingarm pivot.
