HI guys. Im new to this forum and thinking about getting a 2014 1199s.
but dealer is only giving me promotional $1500 off and no more discount.
i think 2015 model is coming in next 3 months and i was kind of disappoited they are not going down on the price for 2014 model...

is it normal for ducati 1199s they dont give u deal even thought its almost time for next year model come out?

should i just take $1500 off promotional deal and get 2014 model or wait for 2015??

how much did you guys pay for your 1199s?

and what kind of deal did u get for your 1199s??

are they changing alot in 2015 1199s?

thank you for your help guys.

got a feeling there will be a mid-model upgrade in 2015 for the 1199.

looking at previous model line up

2003-2004 999
2005-2006 999 - lighter, more HP

2007-2008 1098
2009-2011 1198 - bigger engine, electronics

2012-2014 1199
2015 skyhook? launch control?

Hey, I'm on the same boat as you. The dilemma of either buy now or wait. Here is what I'm doing. I live in NH and if I buy now, I can only ride 2 - 3 months if I stretch it and then store it. My dealer isn't giving much on deals either, but he was willing to let a 2014 S for 22k OTD or 28k for the R. Great price. If I'm going to spend that kinda of money on a bike, might as well wait few months to see whats out in Nov 6-9 (Milan bike show) hopefully they'll put some nice bits on the 2015 model. If they don't, you have more of a bargain with your dealer to knock down the price even lower. In the mean time, you can save up and buy in February or March with a bigger down payment to lower your monthly cost. Gives you more time to plan, maybe check out another bike. I hear BMW and Yamaha are coming out with new liter bikes. That is just my plan.

+1 to that, to much chatter about new things to come.

Here in Italy there are rumors about an upgrade, with news dedicated to solve the heat dissipation problem and so improve the engine efficiency...

Seriously they want to solve the 'heat problem', how about solving the '...... throttle problem'!

Haha 2020. I agree with what you guys are saying, I'm not looking for more horse power or anything, I'm looking for actual fixes, the throttle sensitivity, heat issue, the clutch master things like that as an improvement.

@ygfamily21
Says you live in Troy Michigan. That's similar climate and amount of riding months like NH. If you really want the bike now, sure by all means buy it. But like I said, you can probably ride for another 2 or 3 months then storing it. What if Ducati does make some sort of drastic improvement/modification? Is there a chance that you'll be willing to sell your 2014 (taking a financial lost) to get the 2015?

I move from shelby TWP 2 years ago and I can tell you that you can ride in michigan from april to november with just some warn gear. get you self some powerlet heat gear and you will be fine down to 40 degree weather, I miss riding on those country road by romeo and 34 miles. The best road in Michigan is the tunnel of tree.

buy the bike now is the end of the season in Michigan so the dealer will give you a good discount, don't drink the new bike cool-aid get a 2014 0r if you can 2013 is the same .... if I was you I buy a used one and get extender warranty.
Michigan is one of the best state to own a motorcycle cop dont .... with you, the upper peninsula is beautiful no a good sport bike place but for like a mts1200 is heaven.

waiting is the hardest part lol sitting here watching youtube all day makes me crazy

FYI - the $1,500 promotional deal is from the factory; it has nothing to do with the dealer and you do not have to negotiate to get it - all you have to do is purchase a 2014 1199 S ABS. Summer Offers 2014
Negotiating with the dealer is a separate transaction unto itself. You should be able to negotiate something there. I picked my bike up in May of 2012, one of the first I think; and as such, I did not get a break on the price of the bike, but I did get $500 of the full system termi pipe and free installation. Today, you should be able to get a break on the price of the bike at least.

I am picking up my new 1199 [base] this evening, my dealer, motoworks chicago was very willing to deal, they gave me $2000 off the $18,995 advertized price.

i will see what they will say tomorrow when i go to the dealer.. hope they give me some more discount or at least some freebies etc.... thank for your help!

Drive a few hours and get better pricing....or better yet make a specific offer at your local dealer and give them a chance to refuse it before you go shopping. Offer $2500 below list (the factory's $1500 plus another $1k) and if they don't take your money they really don't want it.....or give them their ask but only if they'll throw in the 1000km service and a sexy new lid.

No need to wait. There will be no significant updates to base or S models in 2015.
