Some dealers quote 3.5 hours some quote 10-11 hours for the full termi install. I don't know if it's based on technician incompetence or some dealers are ....... thieves but I know the majority will install it for free if you paid msrp plus freight and set up.... You needed to negotiate prior to purchase and "if you got it like that" then this post is not for you... BUT as per DNA its to the dealer discretion if they wanna install it free or charge you.

Real dealers like Melillimoto take care of their customers and install and prep the R without additional fees.

They take care of their customers like family, because we are family.

Oh, and regardless of the VIN and year BS discussion, the bike is a homologation machine for the series and the model year is inconsequential.

Now look at something pretty below:

Yeah you are correct. I dont care 13/14.. Mine is in NZ on Monday!!

I ordered my 1199r from a dealer in Toronto. He advised me that the bike was coming from Ducati in California. (apparently its the north American hub?)

He also mentioned it was a 2014 sold as a 2013...

Received an email that the bike arrived at the dealer last week and I was provided the VIN for insurance.

My insurance company tells me it's a 2013 vin. From what OP and others are saying they received 2014's.. I'm confused.

As for the Termis dealer split the cost with me at 250$ for install.

Ducati bikes from the factory destined for Canada land in Montreal first then head out to the rest of the country.

Thanks man, just bought a Tri last week from GP motorcycles in Whitby..
I found them to have the lowest of all the dealerships pricing in Ontario..
Congrats on purchase

Thanks!

My local dealer insisted that the 1199r's were sold out so I decided to look a little further...

Bugger mate, I'm in exactly the same boat now. After reading this thread a bit more I went and ran the VIN I was provided with.

Ducati Australia and my local NZ dealer assured me it is a 2014 model. But when checking the VIN through NZ imports services it came up as a 2013 model so I'm confused as well.

I found this out last night, so sent an email to my dealer. I'll catch up with him first thing tomorrow. But when I orders I had to wait 9 weeks, because I was told the 2013 bikes were not available and I would get a 2014 one.

I do trust this dealer a lot and have know the owner for many years. The bike arrives in New Zealand tomorrow then I'm suppose to collect it on the 12th (they are located in another city)

Ill post here after having a catch up with him tomorrow.

Same here the Vin of my bike is a 2013... I'll follow up as well on monday.

Looking forward to what your dealer has to say.

P.S. are they installing the termi's for free?

I asked around and the consensus is that ducati's north amercian offices are in California.

I dont think it would be montreal...

Unless I'm getting a US version 1199r?

I just installed my full termi last night as well. The dealer installed my slip-ons on my tricolore for free so I'm really surprised that they want to charge $1000.

The teardown and install can take 3-4 hours if you know the sequence and tricks. PM or ask here if you want tips and maybe pics of how I did mine.

Good luck !

Hey mate I have written confirmation this morning from Ducati Australia that my bike is a 2014.

Here are the details from Ducati:

Confirmation that the bike is a 2014 model, see below:

I have to pay about 4 hours labour to have my full exhaust system fitted - about $400 NZD
