My dealer has never seen this happen so posting here to see if any of you have run into this issue and have a solution.

My front right fork is leaking. It is not due to the fork seal for sure. It is leaking where the fork tube (inner) meets the axle casting. Please see pic attached and you will see an air bubble.

This is on the 1299 Base model (not S) so it has a Marzocchi fork and not Ohlins.

Thanks much.

Thanks Paul. This is very helpful indeed. Most detailed video thus far on these forks. Great job done. Unfortunately, it does not solve my problem. mine is leaking where the fork meets the axle casting.

Moderator - definitely worth posting the video in the archive as it is the best out there.

O-ring at bottom of slider tube and the axle casting. the loctite also has probably fail too. If you look up the Ohlins FGR174 insert manual (page 4) it shows how to use a heat gun to separate the tube and casting. source new o-ring, re-loctite, back racing.

Thanks DStyleNZL.. fork is at a specialized m/c suspension shop doing precisely that. Fingers crossed.. will know next week if operation was successful.

Problem solved! Just did a test run and no leak! Whew!!

Not something I would dare to do. But here is what had to be done. There is a screw on the inside of the fork at the bottom. Needs removed. Now the daring part...need to heat the bottom where fork joins the casting. It come apart and needs new loctite. Ducati solution is a new fork...NOT!!

thanks all for the assistance.

let’s get rid of this c19 so we can ride again!
