So I've been pretty much almost set on gettin an F3 800 Dragster hopefully around New Years but I have yet to test ride one. Wouldn't be gettin rid of the Panigale but would be adding to the stable. While the Panigale is obviously an awesome and sexy lookin machine, it isn't very ideal for ridin around town in slow traffic. The upright position of the Dragster would make for a much more pleasant ride through the city and longer commutes. Plus having 2 superbikes doesn't make any sense for my needs. Hell, I still have to buy a cheap used 600 to thrash around on the track as well. I had convinced myself on one of these below....

but I just saw that MV Agusta announced they're releasing the RR version which is such a beauty.....but WTF???? Those wheels?

As you all know, my obvious colors of choice are white and blue but I do like the color scheme of this RR but why did they have to ruin it with such ugly ... wheels? Of course it's a matter of taste but this single reason will force me to stick to my original plan. Hopefully I can test ride one to convince myself for sure about gettin one.

Those white wheels are heinous, black/red looks awesome. Cool looking bike!!!!

Do a lot of research and know what you're getting into from an ownership experience, with a low-volume manufacturer like MV.

Their bikes have always looked amazing.... although what they were thinking with the wire wheels, I don't know.

OMG those white wheels are an abomination! Thanks for posting, I've only seen the RR teaser video thus far. I'm with you, I've loved the Dragster since it debuted, even though it really is only a tarted-up Brutale 800 for $1500 more just for the looks. EDIT: I went to the Asphalt and Rubber site to read further and realize now the big electronics upgrade the Dragster RR has, with MVICS 2.0 that now includes clutchless down-shifting (all the rage with 2015 models, apparently). For a streetbike, I still don't see how much advantage this will realistically have over the original, and much better looking, Dragster 800. The article also reported the European price is just less than 21% more than the base Dragster 800. If that holds with the US pricing (yet to be announced) then that would make it about $17,900 vs. the $14,800 of the current model. For the $3,000 difference I'd get the base model, get a slip-on to uncork that glorious sounding triple and maybe get some lightweight OZ wheels and be done - although I like the OEM wheel design and it has wide handlebars and counter-rotating crankshaft for good "flickability" as-is.

Regarding reliability, I owned a 2007 MV Agusta F4 1000R for 16,000 miles and it was excellent. It had none of the "issues" my 2012 1199 has had. OEM parts were indeed a ..... to get here in the USA, fork seals took 10 weeks! The MV Agusta triple motor is a gound-up modern design, and they've used the motor in 6 different bikes (675 cc & 800 cc) to date of the last 3 years. The first 675's had teething problems but they've had a couple years to refine the design which is what they used to do very well with the old F4 motor to great success. Makes me confident enough to get one if I had the dosh, but then again I've got an excellent dealer less than an hour away.

The Shift-Tech owner here has the white one, and put some BST wheels on it. I've read a couple post where he said he thinks it's pretty damn awesome. Good luck and indeed let us know if you get one.

Reminds me of a custom Buell I made for my wife years ago, this was as fun a bike as I've ever ridden on the street:

MV's always knock it when it comes to appearance and details, i must say the spoked wheels tickle me a bit!

Shamelessly chasing the R9T market

Personally, I prefer a little more tail on my ride ;)

I *really* want a Dragster... They have had several at my local dealer but I've never been able to test ride one. Definitely a cool scooter.

One of these would make a very nice compliment to the Panigale. Definitely bold aesthetics, but MV seemingly has a knack for knowing just what to do when blending edgy and graceful styling elements.

Beautiful bikes; horrible fueling.
It will be important to have a dealer nearby to upload the new fueling maps, etc. as the bike continues to be developed while in the hands of customers. Work in progress.
