u can call me poser or whatever but i ride my bike on street 99% of the time and want it to be cool and sexy cuz i paid lot of money for it. When i buy stuff like my porsche and corvette i want it to be looking cool and have all the latest stuff. R without led head light is like porshce 911 turbo with yellow cheap lights... and like white13pani said if we do modify head light they might void warranty and i dont want my R to have after market led neither.. this is deal breaker for me and gonna wait for future R with LED. and i guess this makes SL still the most desirable and sexiest.

Gotta admit, this new R looks nice... better then my Tricolore...
Time to sell the bikes to keep up with the "Jones"...:D

OK, you're a poser. You actually defined what a poser is. Good job.

"want it to be cool and sexy cuz i paid lot of money for it. When i buy stuff like my porsche and corvette i want it to be looking cool and have all the latest stuff. "

i cant say no to ur statement. lol but LED is must if im paying 30k+ for a bike. For instance, just imagine u bought a ferrari but it has no LED cuz company says its made for track. Even though its made for track there are 1000s of ppl out there still ride it on street mainly and wanna have LED as standard.

YG, thats not an apples to apples comparo. Take the Pagani Zonda Evolucion, or the Ferrari FXX, these are bread for the track. Nobody is looking for LED headlights. The R is for Racing and thats the customer Ducati is aiming this bike for. If you want to have LEDs, but the S. thats the street 90%/track 10% bike that most guys need.

it wasnt a perfect example but just get my point. if R didnt come with LED in first place then i could be careless but they had it for past 2 years and now taking it out for minor weight saving or trying to be cheap(whatever the reason is) its just absurd imo. Like i said there are many ducati customers out there love LED head lights and many will be disappointed by this dicision ducati made on 2015 R.

Yeah you are a poser. :D;)

Listen I think the R is the bomb! I bet when the details on the non street suspension comes out it will have race calving in it and the springs maybe stiffer. This will save a ton of cash on those of us that ride track only.

I will have one, oh yes she will be mine.

My 2014 Nismo has power windows, a stereo, and A/C... that's it.

No leather interior, power or heated seats, navigation, or auto transmission - not even options.

Just 150% stiffer suspension and a stock tuned cat back exhaust.

I am not saying I wouldn't prefer LED headlights, but it is not going to prevent me from considering it.

Thamer, I'm we are in the same boat bud. I'm getting mine...

Not to pile on but I think this says it all. You mention a 911 Turbo vs a GT3RS. Which Corvette is "cool"? The Z06?

The problem isn't with the R, it's that you're not actually looking for a race bike - you're looking for bragging rights.

u r right. i aint rossi or mm. and its just my 2 cents. i couldve bought s1000rr with lil mods and go faster than R but i spent more cuz its more beatiful and yes i want the bragging rights too cuz its ducati panigale R. again its my 2 cents. and please dont come at me like im wrong cuz not everyone is great track rossi or mm. im just a dude want a nice bike. Im not gonna go track every week and ride the hell out of my r but i want a best bike( excluding sl) and i want led on it. There is nothing wrong to be disappointed as a customer. Some dont care but some do care.. Not everyone is track oriented mind and take their r to track.

The problem with these "bragging rights" is that unless you're reasonably fast being the slow guy on the fast bike is only impressive to people that don't know any better.

And worse to be the slow guy on a very expensive and fast bike trying to brag about it to everyone else. I've never seen that result in people envying that guy.

Again, not piling on and you're certainly free to have your opinion. But you can understand why some people don't understand you getting riled up about a headlight on a bike homologated for WSBK right?

And I agree with some of the others that looking for your self-admitted bragging rights has a very short runway when it comes to cars and bikes....like one year. Actually, by the time you get your shiny new toy in April, they'll "accidentally" leak details of the new and improved model in August and release the specs in October so you get 4-6mos of boosted self-esteem tied to a material object.

now im slow guy cuz of bragging right? ppl buy R or SL NOT because they are the best riders( or pull 100% potential of the bike) . its because they can and partial bragging right too. i dont know you and u dont know how i ride. So dont be so hasty about how i ride. i dont track every week but i am better than a lot and you might be slower guy than me.

its not like i go out there in front ppl and say im better cuz i got better bike. its all in my head and feeling good about myself cuz i got the bike i want.

btw i usually see ppl on zixxer think they are rossi or something but mostly i see them on highway doing 180mph(not on track) without gears( squids) and think they are better just because they got jap bikes. Just saying

Now now kids.....behave. relax. Get along.

If Ducati decided not to put led headlights on the next R, so what? You don't like it? Get over it. If you let something as simple as a headlight swap prevent you from makin a purchase on a R model, then maybe you should just stick with whatever bike you have now. It's a silly reason not to upgrade if you're even considering the next R model. Spend another $500-$600 on a led headlight assembly, sell the headlights that come with the R for $200-$300 and there ya go. A cheap mod. It's an easy to do mod and if you do it right, there would be no worries about warranty denials due to a headlight mod.
