The bike's "facial expression" looks incredibly awkward coming around the bend in those pictures. The new design almost seems to have taken on a touring bike element. The lighter weight, increased peak HP, and allegedly improved chassis are certainly good signs for riders, though.

Poor SOBs that bought an HP4 recently when they included all the trick bits from that one on this new version and bumped up the power while also dropping 11 pounds of weight - Doh!

I'm not drawn to either MY's aesthetics but, based on looks alone, I would prefer the 2014 HP4 over one of these 2015 S1KRRs.

Swing arm and lower controls should have been powder coated black.

While I like the silver on the Panigale, I'd rather have powder coated black on my bike as well.

Good business opportunity for symmetric fairings and headlight manufacturers

anything like the poor SOBs who bought the 1199s when the 1199r came out the next year or the SOBs that bought the 1199r and now its going to be a 1299r. come on man nobody will be ahead of the game. if you keep waiting for the latest and greatest you will have nothing.
didnt get the iphone 6 cause the 6s is coming out next year. didnt get the 70 in led tv cause a 75 in 3d led is coming out next year . etc.... all the while im using a clam shell phone and a tubed tv

I said poor SOBs that bought an HP4 RECENTLY. Could have done a few keystrokes of research to know that a new base version was around the corner and BMW chose to have the new base model USURP the outgoing "special" model. Ducati didn't do that.

I'm with you, and I don't like blue bikes. It seems they went even more Japanese in the styling, instead of less.

They swapped the asymmetrical front end around to opposite sides. Seriously. This actually happened.

BAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! HAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

As i've always said.

When they get some real stylists on board.
The sales figures would improve dramatically.

The Germans don't get it:(
AT ALL.

Thank god:D

It may have been better had BMW just left the design alone. Simply switching the sides of the winking face gives the impression they are either apathetic or completely unimaginative. There may be other small changes to the bike as well, but the fact that their most prominent 2015 aesthetic enhancement was transversing the asymmetrical lights is unfortunate.

Jesus, 4 pages of pissing on about the looks. You do all know this bike model has over 25% market share of the liter+ sportbike market, right? And it did so from zero only 4 years ago with no history in the space whatsoever. It outsells the 1199/899 tremendously. It wins virtually every review, either street or track, timed laps or simply subjective comparison to everything else out there, 1199 included.

I don't like the "beak" they put on the nose piece this year, and the exhaust looks like it weighs 10 pounds more (even though its 6.6 pounds lighter) and came from 1990. However, the Shift Assitant Pro that allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts has me very intrigued. I bet this thing will be running even further away from the field in all the 2015 sportbike comparisons, and will take even more marketshare in the sales race.

I'm not rushing to get rid of my 1199, but if I suddenly fell into some more play money for another sportbike, this would be very high on my list - if only because of its likely empirical performance as a go-fast tool, street and track.

The shift assistant pro feature does sound neat. I believe Jarel put something similar on his track 899 but, if I remember correctly, the cost to do so was fairly high.

There's no doubting the S1KRR is a very capable machine, and this is likely what makes its looks more controversial. Many people want to like this bike but simply can't get past the aesthetics.

Regardless of looks we all have to admit it's a good time to be in motorcycles and cars. We are in the midst of another HP war and it is in incredible to see what we can produce today compared to 5 or 10 years ago.
