I would buy the .... out of that motorcycle
...for now you'll have to settle on a 1299SL......

I wish this was the world we lived in............ it's not. When's the last time you saw a motorcycle magazine praise a bike for it's lightness and handling and say "this bike's better even though it has less power"? Never. It's power, that's all the "market" cares about. And not even "real world" power, it's dyno graph power. Just look at all of the comparison articles, dyno shootouts, etc. It's the default conversation for people who can't ride (i.e. most motojournalists) because it's objective. Handling, agility, etc. are subjective. If I had MY way, we'd have a 130hp 599 Panigale twin. That would be the shiz-nitz!
669 sounds better, just my opinion.
Anyways, give me a mid-size engine, with full ohlins, forged wheels, and weighing in around 340 dry, for say $13k. just me where to sign.
Wait, it's called Daytona 675R on a diet.
Or like a light 959 you mean with tasty bits.
What was the bet?
Waaay back when this was barely a rumor, I bet that the Panigale replacement wouldn't be a V4.
They had to do it for WSBK, but as far as I'm concerned motorcycles like Women should have two jugs ONLY, the Larger the Better. So I will never buy one.
I'm not with this new trend of calling a 900+cc bike a middleweight. It's a liter bike. Also a good 30lbs heavier than the 675R.

A litre bike with 40hp less.
959 is a glorified 750cc

I don't now what women you're talking about but the nice ones have 2 jugs AND 2 cheeks . I for one can't wait to hear and test ride one of these beasts.

Agreed, I want a REAL middleweight Superbike that can be raced, maybe if the whole V4 thing happens and the large bike goes back to 999cc's it would realistically happen. Or what I REALLY want is a lightweight Superbike that can be raced, a competitor to the RC390 only WAY better in the Ducati sort of way! THAT bike should be an L-Twin 399cc and I would CRUSH everyone in our Lightweight GP races!
the CBR300 race class has the biggest fields at my local track.
Last weekend we had Troy Bayliss and his son Oli racing (and winning ) in a 3hr
race, along with a number of pro ASBK riders getting track time in.
The 600cc race with the Superbikes as there isnt enough numbers to warrant their own race. Funny thing a 600cc wins out right in the superbike.
Cost wise its just as expensive to race a 600cc here as a 1000cc so thats what most people do.
