2022/23 V4S stock preload settings

I adjusted my rear so I had about 15mm free sag. it had zero from stock but kept the stock spring. The front I got heavier springs, 10.5's and run 8 turns preload, stock was maybe 2 turns from memory? What I have learnt is Ohlins forks are happy in the 8-14mm preload range, outside that you need different springs. I adjust according to how the bike feels, starting from keeping the bike midstroke with me on it in full gear. Same with the clickers, back them off and work on rebound first then compression. Less is more with suspension adjustments.

My suggestion is keep it simple. Rider SAG should be around 30% of total travel .
Static SAG should be about 10% of total travel although not always achievable for the forks. Focus on Rider SAG.
Riding travel should be around 75% of total travel without wheelies or massive emergency braking.
Look for a dust ring (a dirty bike here is good) or place a cable tie to see how much travel you're using.

Thanks guys. Front end feeling good presently and have been using a cable tie for travel reference. Will work on the rear and see how it comes up and also how that effects the front.
Question: Does anyone know if the fork on the 22+ bottoms out before full travel?

I don’t believe they do. I think there’s ~5 mm dead space last time I checked. Full extension = 130 mm stanchion. Spec is 125 mm travel and I believe when I took the springs out a couple years ago, there was 5 mm when I fully compressed them
