Ah ok been there done that. Its good quality and right by the circuit. You are a captive audience there though as the seaside resort is 20-30 mins drive away. iiRC the evening meal is ok sort of a buffet, can be a bit repetitive. Maybe look to find a restaurant called ALL BEEF, that's at the nearest resort Praia de Rocha for one night out though someone will have to drive.

Thanks Andy. 👊

lol. I love seafood.

We found that the hotel/resort food was garbage. The gem food spots in Portugal were the small mom and pop shops you find on the side of the road or tucked away in the back of an alley. Best restaurant that we had there was a lunch place that we randomly ran across while driving back from Sintra. Literally one old lady worked there preparing and serving seafood petiscos. So good.

Wake up to reality, the portly middle aged sit up and beg oops I mean adventure bike sector is huge, thats where the gold is and not in super bikes. Ducati have given these daring middle class heroes something that can ride to lunch and show off their latest Klim gear.

This is a business, not a passionate small manufacturer in the hills hand building beautiful exotica, the bean counters rule!

The produced liveries are always quite catching, but I think the foundation is a clear miss. The 916 is the bike that place Ducati on the map, not just from its victories but from its outstanding design. Rather than slapping commemorative fairings on a V4, I think a proper movement would be to take the new technology/performance and bring back the styling of the 916; ie, undertail exhaust, cat headlights, etc.

I don’t know. I don’t think an old looking Panigale V4 would have appeal. The 916 was good in its day but it looks like a really old bike next to a Panigale V4. I could see that being a project for some one off custom shop; taking a modern V4 and working it into a 916.

I agree with this in the way that I think they should bring back the edge of the 916 rather than the Coca Cola bottle styling.

Commemorative badging would be more appropriate than a massive 916 on the side of the bike.

Well said.

You mean like that one?

I bought it, then finished it to properly pay homage to the 916, with modern aero, WSBK exhaust, reduced weight etc…if they really wanted to do the 916 right they’d essentially do a V4 Superleggera with a 916 style livery.

At some point I’ll get the current fairings and setup on the bike more like that Foggy 916 livery.

This is what MY 916 homage bike looks like:
